Even Mac users has this issue. I'm sure it's not 90% of users has this, just that those problems seems so common, you can hardly run from it.

:p Maybe Linux the way to go haha.

or either that it's depending on ur luck... or i've just not yet experience anything yet...?? :o these problems mentioned... how long typically does it take to appear...?? :s11:

that little bit more of time wouldnt really affect much right? see you guys keep benchmarking as though it really makes a big difference.

Hi, All
I try to search online but seems not many information about it.
I have a Fujitsu Lifebook S6240 and also a HP tablet TC1100. Both running Windows XP and using IDE hard disk. I am thinking of upgrading them to SSD but not sure which one to get.

Anyone with experience with these 2, please share with me or advise me.
Thank you very much.

so far my Crucial m4 no problems on me.

i have also installed every single Windows Update & Chipset update.

no problem. Marvell Controller is still the best ^^

Sandforce will always be Sandforce :p

they really need to improve the stability of it.

Plextor Releases M5 Pro Series SSDs With Marvell 88SS9187 Monet Controller - The SSD Review

Plextor has announced the release of their M5 Pro Series of SSDs and the M5 Pro will be the very first based on Marvell’s new 88SS9187 Monet SSD Controller, the successor to Marvells 9174 controller widely used by companies including Intel and OCZ. Plextor’s new products will deliver sequential R/W speeds of up to 540 MB/s and 450MB/s respectively, not to mention random R/W performance of up to 94,000 and 86,000 IOPS.

IDE u want SSD for what ... your interfaces are just too slow

Hi, bro. cos the current hard disk is aging and give out noises but the rest are still going healthy. even battery can still last about 2 to 2.5 hrs. I only use them for web surfing and light office editing.

Since going to buy a replacement HDD, I am thinking to go for SSD to give it a new lease of life. But really noob on this, so hoping someone who may have done it before share the experience. thanks

Hi guys, I've been using an 80GB Intel G2 SSD for almost 2 years now. I am very pleased with its performance but I am filling the drive up.

I am thinking about adding a 250 GB SSD, probably another Intel. Can I retain the 80GB SSD as the primary disk & add this 2nd SSD as a secondary drive and be able to retain the same performance as using a single SSD?

Thanks in advance as SSD is still something I am not very familiar with.

1st when i upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8 i experienced it once in a while so not that bad, negligible. But cos my TRIM not working so someone said maybe i need to install Windows 8 fresh, make a bit of sense since i can troubleshoot to no end, might as well install fresh. Right after i did it, the freezing was horrible. Normally last like 30secs to 1min then ok again but not long before it happens. Then i realize its whenever i go Internet, so i disable WIFI then tada!!! No freezing or very negligible freezing interval BUT that's not the solution right? One important thing to note is when the freezing happen, i can always see the HDD light staying solid so something must be accessing the SSD aggressively.

Then someone gave me a link to optimize my SSD with several things i do. I didn't follow all but the one i did was to disable indexing and defragmentation schedule and it did the trick. TRIM still not working though, keep saying i got RAID ARRAY. I read somewhere someone mentioned he installed msahci.sys and the problem was solved but i'm on Win 8 so i don't know how to do that hahaha.

We benchmark not to show you difference.. just to share whatever details we can to ssd users.

At least those who haven't got theirs can use it s a reference..

U only think this is comparison war ar?
