I had used my sp4 for more than a year without any protector, writing on it. No issue. No need to worry so much. It is built to use with their pen, unless u use normal pen to write on it.

Afraid finger nail or surface pen might scratch it... lol
Still sourcing online for a screen protector and skin
Will update u guys once done
So far i m happy with my SP 2017. Only complaint is that occasionally it will hang for a few seconds while surfing or watching vid

I only worry my watch scratch the glass. Finger nail and stylus no issue one

For some reason, my surface pro is auto registered but not my keyboard. Not sure how to register and the chat agent is not very helpful. Microsoft support really quite lousy

Is the extended warranty available at a education discount if we buy as standalone? I think may have to check out together with tablet. Lol!

Last time I got my sp4 skin from dbrand. Quite easy to fix cos it is thick, unlike screen protector.

I don't use screen protector for phone and tablet for many years liao, no issue.

I know I started this thread and I'm very grateful for all the helpful advice.

I just can't get myself over the line and put up the cash for this machine....mainly because of the screen issue...money is no issue for me

If $$ is no issue, no need to think so hard. Not happy with the screen just smash it and buy a new one. Hehe!
