cumulative is 3.3-ish cause I did really badly in my first year in Poly (below GPA 3). But scored above GPA 3.5 to GPA 4 for my last year of Poly. I haven't receive any emails regarding to the outcome of the interview as of now.

Heard that we will have to wait at least 1 month (after interview) to know if we get accepted. In 2 weeks time, should be able to know the results ;)

Ahh I see..hope you receive good news after 2 weeks! :)

Hello! Heard from my friends (currently year 1 in SUSS), saying that SUSS have this compulsory 2 years of service learning thingy. So we need to do volunteer work (either 1 of the days during weekends or weekdays). Volunteer work ranging from giving tuition or befriending kind (mainly for those in needy family organization)!

So I think the school sort of values your volunteering experience or your CCA records in that sense. Those that are preparing for interview, the interviewer will probably ask these questions (depending on your interviewer; for Early Childhood, they didn't ask about volunteering experience). :)

Will they ask you to show volunteer certificate/proof that you have volunteered? I'm concerned that they wouldn't take verbal description into account as I volunteer on ad-hoc basis, don't have any cert or proof to show :(

Anyone with decent CGPA but weak O level maths have gotten into data analytics? My friend has the same CGPA as me, but stronger O level grades have gotten an interview for Data Analytics.

It’s stated on the website that you need a B4 in maths for the course.

CGPA won’t be able to cover that? ☹️ Or like maths modules that I have done in poly

Last year there were 20 applicants for every place in that course. I think it’s unlikely unless you have near perfect gpa or some stellar accomplishment, if that’s the case it would be advisable to apply for NUS/NTU/SMU. I’m not a staff so i wouldn’t really know. Best to check with the school

Hi everyone, I've been shortlisted for an interview in FT Early Childhood. I don't have a background or diploma in it thus I'm feeling really nervous that I fail this interview eventually despite this opportunity. Plus I haven't been in a group interview before. Anyone can give more in-depth on how it works and increase my chance of acceptance? I didn't go the open house either so I'm not sure about the intake for this course.

Hi, @nauxuhswol has been to the interview and shared his/her experience before in this thread (post #86).
May I know what's your RP/grades/GPA? :)

Erm, the interviewer is really nice. So, don't need to be too nervous. She seems very accepting towards everyone (even if you do not have experience in that field). But probably for self intro, you can say things like why you will want to study early childhood and not continue studying what you have learn earlier? Like maybe you enjoy the interactions with kids? something that inspire you? I would say avoid saying things like "cause the government start to focus on this sector and there is more job vacancy...". They want to hear about HOW PASSIONATE YOU ARE (I feel).

Try researching on this course on the school website! See what modules they offer and stuff :) In case the interviewer ask questions like "what you know about this course?", you won't get caught off-guard ;)

I went for the interview, and I didn't have related diploma, only experience. There are people in my group who do not have related diploma and experience too. I think if you do not have any experience in that field ... then do you have niece or nephew that you are close to? maybe can link to that area? Doesn't have to be teaching experience, simple interactions with kids below 9 will do. :)

And for the group interview, just try to answer as many questions as you can. There will be a hands-on activity for you to do first (as a group) before the discussion. For the activity, try not to like stand there and watch people do things? and don't be like too bossy (wants to do everything on your own) either. Then for the discussion part, I think you may want to consider answering as many questions as possible (to make an impression for the interviewer, since you may not have any experience on that area). There's no right and wrong answer for those questions too they just want to listen your views and thoughts.

For intake wise, I not too sure too!

Hope you find this useful! ;)

From what I know, some interviewers, don't want to see your portfolio or achievements. The one uploaded when you submit your application is the only thing they see or is interested in. So I think if don't have proof also nevermind :)

Hi! I applied for FT Social Work at SUSS on 19/1.

Do you mind sharing what Social Work-related qns did they ask you? I'd expect qns such as, "Why do I want to become a Social Worker?" Would they ask me, "If you enjoy helping people, why not volunteer instead of pursuing Social Work?"

I graduated with a Diploma in Marketing from NYP in 2017 and have 2.5 months of experience working at a Nursing Home. I don't volunteer as I need to spend time with my Grandmother and I tutor 6 students on my off-days. Currently, I'm working at a CC where I've the opportunity to guide the illiterate, persons with disabilities and senior citizens in the usage of technological devices.

I'm worried as my internship pulled down my gpa by a lot although my grades are decent (according to my teachers).

Thank you for your help, really appreciate it! I'm happy to find someone who applied for Social Work too. :)
Have you gotten an interview yet? I applied on 8 March 2018, yet to receive a call or offer for interview....

GPA 2.88

Hi everyone. I applied on 8 March and have yet to receive offer for interview. First choice was FT degree in finance. But my GPA is 2.88, got hope? I do have testimonials, dont know if it will help. If they reject me, will I receive email?

And i also heard during the group interview, you will be grouped with others who have same gpa range..true?

2.88 seems pretty acceptable for an interview. Other factors that affects will be ur diploma, math results, personal statement.
