I see. So there’s a given question for your essay and you just pen down? Did you bring any notes to refer or you wrote based off from your memory?

U will receive email and a call to inform that u have been shortlisted. The essay question will be in the email.

There will be essay, cognitive test, group discussion then 1 to 1 interview.

For your essay just do some research first. I was asked to state my opinion and thoughts about the essay.

For the cognitive test, take it slow and don't rush. I did only 20 out of the 50 questions. All MCQ. They will tell u it's okay if you can't complete all questions.

Group discussion was based on the essay. It was an open discussion so we just discussed freely among the selected group mates. Just be polite when talking and make a point to listen to others as well. I think they just want to see your participation level.

1 to 1 interview - My interviewer didn't ask me any tough questions. We just talked about the admission essay I wrote, talked about how this degree will benefit me and talked about SUSS.

I went for interview on 28 Jan and got my offer today. So the waiting time was exactly 1 month.

Oh yeah thanks it does! hahah. btw, did anyone dressed in smart casual? like with jeans + long sleeve + sneakers?

Yup the topic will be given through the shortlisting email. My topic was "people face a terrifying moral dilemma". From there just watch some youtube videos and read some articles to understand what the topic is about.

On the day itself they will provide an article related to the topic. If you want you can write notes on the article based on your research, but you can't bring your own hardcopy notes into the computer lab. For me I didnt bring notes:) hope this helps.

Hi guys, I'm interested in studying Social Work and Early Childhood Education in SUSS. Also considering Human Resource Management. My A levels grades are really bad: CDD/C GP C PW B HCL A. I didn't have any outstanding CCA achievements and leadership positions, not much community involvement too...Do I stand a chance in the above 3 courses? Anyone who has been through the interviews and/or selection tests would like to share your experience? Any helpful information is greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

KIV means put on reserve list.. then 1st round of people accept already then you get in. Not sure if its totally KIV or because they still interviewing people and too early to accept for now? But then again the slots only 40 last year, this yr shud have increase maybe 10-20 more slots.. Chances are very slim nonetheless.

Wait there are only 40 ppl in the accounting course? That sounds way too little =/ i actually called the school up just now and they told me if you are on the reserve list the chance of getting accepted is v low so... =/

You have a chance to get interviewed if your CCA records are at least there..I think anyone with GPA 3.5 will get accepted most likely in first round. Other than that, most will end up in KIV. However, you can try part time. If not go for private already.[/QUO

Isnt there this belief that if u get to the interview everyone is on an even playing field? You believe gpa>interview? I got roughly 3.4 and only got reserve list
From what I heard, whether you can qualify or get the chance to go for the interview is based on your academics (your GPA results). Other non-academic area (volunteering work, CCA, leadership, work experience) will be considered in the interview round (so they won't really look at your GPA after you have qualify for the interview already, I think..) :)

Hi all, would like to know how Long did the school take to send interview email after application submission?

Ermm... I went for the early childhood interview. For the interview, its in a group setting. For mine, its 5 of us in a group. So depending on how many people applied for Early Childhood course that went for the same timeslot as you. So not necessary that there will be 5 people for group interview (can be more or lesser). There is only 1 interviewer. Before the start of the interview, you are required to answer some question on a paper. After that it will be self introduction (they mainly want to know why you choose this course and if you have any experience with kids that are younger than 8 years old) then will proceed to group discussion. All I can say is that if you have experience with teaching or handling kids, it will definitely be a bonus for you in the group interview round. Hope it helps :s13:

To be honest, everything end really fast (group interview for your research topic and for early childhood). Like everything end so abruptly. When the interviewer told us that we can leave, we were so shocked. I don't really know how they are going to choose who they are going to accept based on that :/

I got rejected without interview :-( just received the email today. I applied for FT Early Childhood and my grades are BCD/D GP-D LIT-D CL-A PW-A. I also have related working experience in teaching children, especially child cares and kindergartens, for more than a year. Don't know what to do now cause I thought my experience would at least land me an interview :/ oh wells have to wait till 1 April to appeal. Wish you all the best for your application!
