Doubt it'll move out of it's current campus as they've just built new facilities during the past few years, which definitely cost a lot. Unless the government sponsor everything but I think that's unlikely too.

I gt a feeling tat they will either move out to a newer, bigger campus, or ask Global SIM to move out...

Cus they r alr govt autonomous uni, why wld they wanna be sharing campuses with a private uni?:s22:

SUSS has still a very very long way to have equal recognition by employers. I mean if you can do social science in NUS why will you join SUSS? Look at the SUSS thread. All those joker complaining that things are more difficult and hoping to graduate faster as standards are tighten. These are the same group of people that will be the pioneer batch to graduate with the SUSS name. Lol

That's why no standard ma. Paper so easy still can complain difficult. For SUSS to be respected they need to up the standard.

1. Implement min grades + bell curve.

e.g bellcurve cap 20% to A and above, 25% to B and above with a minimum grade of 80 marks for A. If less than 20% get >80, so be it. If more than 20% get 80 marks, bellcurve kicks in.

2. Fail = 50marks and below. GPA 0.0 for the mod, retake = pass only and not counted towards GPA.

3. Implement min entry policy. A school is defined by the standard of the student. If they can't do simple question, they won't be able to understand complex stuff.

Serge Lang, a math professor at Yale, used to give his Calculus students a fairly simple algebra problem on the first day of classes, one which almost everyone could solve, but some of them solved it as quickly as they could write while others took a while, and Professor Lang claimed that all of the students who solved the problem as quickly as they could write would get an A in the Calculus course, and all the others wouldn’t. The speed with which they solved a simple algebra problem was as good a predictor of the final grade in Calculus as a whole semester of homework, tests, midterms, and a final.

4. GPA with an average of B and below for the term gets a warning letter. CGPA with an average of B and below for 2 term = expel.

This is how you raise standard.

If you go SUSS confessions, there's quite interesting confessions especially in relation to grades :s13:

Huh got sample bo. Hahaha.

637. "We need to do something. Lets all push for a student union committe so we can voice out our opinions and make sure they are heard. SUSS cannot just ignore its flaws at the expense of student's grades and mental heath. If it doesnt want to be the only AU with highest suicide rates it needs to hear our opinions and make the changes. After all we are the ones paying them so lets act like the customer and voice out our dissatisfaction"

640. "Back in year 1 I was an advocate of suss. Now that suss is out to kill us. We have to stop our friends and people we care about from joining. Should have accepted other schools instead of suss.
The top management has lost touch with the ground. We need change!
# make suss great again"

673. "to 656: don't think that only full time students got affected. EVERYONE in SUSS are suffering from this brutal exploitation to our grades, be it part time or full time students. Come on, we are all in this together. Don't play the line drawing game as this is not an election. Don't be so narrow-minded. Strive together to make our voices heard by the Uni! Because ultimately based on your logic, full timer having more time to revise and complete assignments would have benefited more if ranked with part timer, no? Instead, what had the outcome showed? Part timers and full timers were given equally bad grades by SUSS! Students - part time + full time united as one against the University (SUSS) will be half the battle won, no? Think wiser pls."

Got a lot more but sorry to SUSS students, some of the english is really really bad. I saw someone write fool time student. I can understand some spelling errors but seriously, even the admin didn't bother to proofread this stuff and just publish it :s13:

Full of ****.

Might as well ask for straight A.

"Stop others from joining the school "

They wouldn't join if they can make it elsewhere.

You want easy paper, good grades, respected and recognized. Xiao difficult ah. Raise the standard or else suck it up ah.

Plus most of the people aim for pass. Not A. Which sort of explain the attitude and result. Everything good comes at a price. Everything worthy cost someone something.

Saw this and seriously unless they raise the standard. A 4.25 in SUSS is only gonna be equivalent to a 2.X from NTU/NUS.

Failing 85 out of 90 people is kind of unreasonable, lets be honest here...

Either there's something wrong with the teaching quality and availability of studying material, or the quality of students entering really sucks till only 5 people can pass a reasonably set and marked exam paper :/

I don't want them to set so easy that any random person can pass without studying, or too hard (more difficult, unreasonable or just pure memorization of uncommonly used information), as this makes the grades and degree you get form SUSS useless in proving your worth.

Im not from the HR programme at SUSS, but you can speak to students about it for more detail.

yes,and this sem the course head for hr mentioned that he want the exam to be set EVEN HARDER after this 85/90 thing. He wants nus exam standard. Basically, asking students who entered with gpa 2+ to do nus paper.lol

and 85/90 failed on the easier set of paper that came out btw, since teachers have to set two papers.

even the teacher go and tell him to tone down..lol

its the nature of this module as im taking it currently.. the FT hr students also shake head during another module lesson when the teacher brought this module up.

True i guess. Not much you can do. But i think the head of HR course lost sight of the actual goal. Producing competent graduates =/= failing everyone.

actually if people were not overly concerned about this 'recognised' issues ~

there's so many top ranking universities around the world that offer bachelors degree programs online. don't even need to set foot on campus for anything.
