Actually I'm kinda struggling to decide between dividend reinvestment or dividend payout. The payouts just kinda feel as though they're returning my own money (deposit amount) to me lol...coz the payout amount is deducted from the amount deposited. Should I just opt for reinvestment instead?

If you're not cash strapped, why not just re-invest the dividends?

Also, how they show the dividend deduction is irrelevant mah. I agree that the way they display it is needlessly confusing. It should be deducted from portfolio value, not amount deposited, but the main gist is still that you get back the dividends whenever they arrive. So why does it matter how it is displayed in the app?

Div reinvest or pay to your bank??!

Hi! Dont feel disappted, it is normal as this is sg mkt& reits/iedge ldr has been dropping lately hence u saw negative returns.... i pumped in more instead of allowing myself feel despondent!! Btw i started this reit around xmas season which is not too far fr your 3 wks ago and reits in sg mkts has revert to one of its former heights before xmas
U can ref to this to estimate the movement of reit: https://www.sgx.com/indices/products/sreitlsp
U r not speculating or trdg/ or betting even, this is for mid-long term investmt!
I'm a newbie in investment, recently took the leap and invested in Syfe Reit+ (100%) but I'm seeing negative in my portfolio return. I guess it's early days as i only started about 3 weeks ago. I put in a lump sum. I wonder if this downtrend in my portfolio is normal since i'm reading elsewhere of many people reporting gains of 4-6% for this same portfolio.

Kurt, my strategy is to opt for div payout when it is at the “heights” or alrdy at its end of upmkt trend eg now..... cos costly to use those divs paid to buy so many “expensive” stks/reits

But if one feel that now the sg mkt is at its lows or still slowly climbing up, then of cos opt for reinvestmt cos the divs can easily buy u more at “relatively cheaper”price ! U can change your option any time the situation warrants

And i strongly believe in Nothing comes free!(even w watever rebates refunded)although a robo, still when the co., buy u new shares , they r paying /deducting commissns/etc transactional fees too..... when price is cheap of cos it is fine, when the mkt is overly too highly-priced then every purchase of using the divs rec’d is not gonna make it more worthwhile... when opted for div pay to u, u get back the exact div paid

This is completely nonsense. Please don't spread misinformation. The management fee is the only fee associated with the REIT portfolio, regardless of the state of the market.

How often will the system help to invest? Every once a week or what?

If you're so inclined, you can DCA daily (Monday to Friday). Otherwise, when Syfe receives your deposit, they'll usually purchase the day itself (depending on what time the deposit comes in) and the day after. Purchases sometime happen in 2 days after deposit since they'll maybe manage to buy 95% of your deposit amount today, for example, and then tomorrow they fill the remainder.

I see

Then how the system will automate to help us sell in profit or loss?

I don't think you understand how robos work. They only automate the buying when you deposit, and selling, when you withdraw. They don't have any threshold rule to buy/sell to minimize loss value or anything fancy like that.

And of course, in the occasional case, when Syfe or Stashaway decide to re-balance their portfolio. For the REIT portfolio, this rebalancing occurs when the component of the REIT index that it tracks changes the composition. It happens yearly (I think).
