Ugh been DCA-ing for the past few months, but things just seem to be going sideways without any real returns...

Those who holding 100 % reits gg ... must be down >5%... Heng i took the ari one. I looking to transfer to global ari already. spore market bearish

i dont know when exactly u guys started for sure i started in the beginning of dec only (the highs of Heights), if u r gonna reacting towards every ups and downs , we wil die early and defeat the purpose of careful Financial planning! I m grateful that my returns are about 5% for less than few weeks! Be grateful sg are able to ride thru the Storms of Covids!
Investmt is NOT Trading and not about Greed and stress at all.......
truly agree w Okenba! If cannot take too much std deviations/ Risks, then better dont sign up for the 100% Reits or 100%equity cos no risk mgt
Also , it is better to have it bobbing up and down with much movement (liquidity) than to have it like a deadfish ....

If we react to every market swing, we are probably going to lose a lot of money.

Eg. If we thought last Friday that the market was going to fall more and sold out from REITs to buy bonds (which is what ARI might have done), then we would be feeling stuck now when it rebounded.

If the market keeps rising, then we may be forced to buy in at a higher price (or lose out on gains as the market rises). This would end up with the classic "Sell Low, Buy High" situation. (ARI may end up automatically doing this for you. The big question is how effective ARI is at predicting future market movements...)

It isn't just a question of rising or falling markets. That is more relevant if we are comparing 100% stocks versus a stock & bond portfolio. ARI has the added component of market timing, and so the big question is how good the system is at timing the market...

100% REITS...seems to be just bobbing up and down slightly since June zzz

how often do u get the dividends?

I dont think SYFE will payout your dividends if your overall invesmt amt with them is less than 20K (then u can opt to have dividends not re-invested)
Else all divdends recvd will be paid to u in a quarterly manner or so (Eligible customers will receive their payouts quarterly in January, April, July and October. Shortly before dividends are to be credited, Syfe will email customers to obtain details of their bank account)

Thanks for all the information :)

But just guessing, you mentioned starting in Dec 2019 - this is via DCA right? Not LSI?

no i m not exactly a Dca supporter (while i dont believe in timing the mkt), maybe dont have a "stable" income stream???
I have my own financial concerns too so i dont really do Regular Saving plans/DCA

i will every now and then dump a lump sum , i cannot predict when too

so the figures u saw are all "Lump sum" (although for SYFE 100 equity pure) i rem i done two lump sum altogether by now, i started that in sep 2020 ONLY (i m a junior compared to many SYFE lovers here) was prev w Stashawwy(still w Stash now of cos)

How do I DCA into Syfe portfolio? It's not setup like Stashaway where you set a target price and frequency to DCA into. Seems like you just put in money and your code whenever you feel like it and they will invest for you?

Yup. As long as you put in the portfolio reference code , they will invest for you anytime.

Syfe deposits directly into portfolio. So if you want to do weekly, just set up weekly standing instructions. If you have 2 portfolios in Syfe, for example, you'll need 8 standing instructions in total since you'll need 4 per portfolio (they have different portfolio reference numbers).

Syfe's deposit system is actually less complicated than Stashaway since each portfolio has different portfolio reference number, unlike in Stashaway where each customer has a unique number, but then inside the website/app then you need to tell them how to split for your portfolios. For Syfe, just transfer into the portfolio you want. Settle.

There will be no change to the 1.0% p.a. return for the next S$90,000 in your Singlife Account.

Nevertheless: https://www.facebook.com/1494800797442605/posts/2874021589520512/?d=n
& some of the popular technology stocks by turnover in Singapore this year include... https://www.sgx.com/research-educat...0-traded-stock-hs-tech-etf-among-top-5-traded
The most traded technology-adjacent stocks have been Mapletree Industrial Trust (#18), Keppel DC REIT (#28) and iFAST (#35). But i didnt understand why r mapletree and keppel such Reits r considered as techgy??!?
