hihi, thanks, i'm interested to make a good car. what is good to start on?

pls teach :)

I believe there are quite a number of Tamiya M4WD Racers here in Singapore however the current issue now is that there are only 2 places with track to play and both locations are not convenient for those staying up North or even West side.

Now that the Jun holidays is here, anyone knows if there are any leisure Mini4WD tracks for kids to have fun?

So far the tracks that I know of are:
1. Stargek - Paya Lebar (race on 11 Jun)
2. S.K.D.C - Tebing Lane

I'm looking for an indoor track with simple amenities such as washroom and drinks.

I believe there are quite a number of Tamiya M4WD Racers here in Singapore however the current issue now is that there are only 2 places with track to play and both locations are not convenient for those staying up North or even West side.

It's been a while, anyone still playing?
For me I sought of quit, soon be clearing some of my ex-stuff.

Track wise, since I stay in the west.
I am still saving up $ to buy a proper track so those in west can race.
Other areas I can consider but at the moment funding for the track is
:s22:.

Already check with Stargek for track rental and their price is insane. :s22:
Few thousand dollar for track rental.
I rather fly to Japan and buy myself. :s13:

Lately I am got a Tamiya lap timer thus waiting for the funds to come in than will start a west side Tamiya club.
Or if I got trouble funding the track, I see any other alternatives or sponsor.

Buy 1 full $63 Track 奥迪双钻战龙四驱车 比赛专用跑道三轨跑道跳台直道弯道45323配套 from Taobao! Audley and JHJ 金联盟四驱车 track spec almost same , then buy separate bridge $100Sgd, Wave, straight , curve.........extend track

Seriously our locall Stargek jo simi lan ? Last time I study Secondary 1990+, Potong Pasir neighbourhood got 2 normal Tracks at Mini mart.
Stargek is not really promoting Mini 4WD or this generation youngsters dun like2 play.

Thanks for sharing.
Last time even my place, almost everywhere got track.
The track very simple to play.

And of cuz last time got the Audley brand, those are three wheel type
and they are insanely fast.
Audley seems like driven out of business already.

New gen want to play but like many mention.
Very few places got track.
Either:

- The one at Stargek but usually their track are configured very
hard to play. New racers especially kids can't really play
unless they spent $ to upgrade
So can new racers learn about this hobby?

- Few other places but those also not convenient

Is Stargek promoting Mini 4WD hobby I think not.
If you compare with like say Hong Kong, their approach
is different.

Why are they not promoting Mini 4WD, no one knows the exact reason.
Maybe the person in charge have particular objective in mind.
Which is to create a winning team for Singapore that is as far as I know.

Like soccer, you want to keep training your team for Fifa and etc.
That is my assumption of their objective for Mini 4WD hobby in SG.
You usually see familiar faces who are campaign Mini 4WD so do you
see new/fresh faces?

Anyone knows if there is any community or forum anywhere in singapore to discuss about mini 4wd? I have recently decided to start playing again. If there are no community discussion, I would like to start one maybe on telegram or something.

I know there is fb group but apparently the admin seems inactive to accept my request :/

I know the feeling as the current admin/group are not very active.
Not to mention some does not live here in SG so very hard
to get in touch with them.

For the time being, anything about Mini 4WD will be this thread.

For starters, do read up on this:

https://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/mini-4wd-basic-knowledge-432#.WhpAh0xuKUk

I also have created my own YouTube channel to share about Mini 4WD.
Do take note that I modify what others to their car.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZKOfM6u1IHjXaz9w-wP5sg/videos?view_as=subscriber

If you want to know how to cope with Stargek Track.
For beginners all I can share is this:

chassis_a_224.jpg

Stargek Track usually got jumps and etc.
tamiya-15392-mass-damper-set-1468400306-0373797-699495f273b9b01184f4d82c48f03b47.jpg

Best to install one damper in front and in the rear.
Than the rest of the setting is up to you.

Take note that Tamiya have trim tires called Offset tires.

TAM15376.jpg

Not necessary to mod your tires, such tires can zip past in corner very quickly.
Hope this helps, anything about this Hobby feel free to ask.

I be starting my own Mini 4WD club in the near future.
Cheers.

I'm also thinking about going to start tamiya again.

Guys can you help me troubleshoot my car?

I just finished building one and below is the spec & result off the Speed Checker (New):

Weight (with battery): 129g
Battery: Normal AA
Top Speed: 35km/h :(
300m Dash: 33.09s

Chassis: Super II (Animal racer series)
Motor: Plasma Dash (New)
Gear Ratio: Lightblue (3.5:1) + Yellow
Drivetrain: Hollow shaft, durable Gear & Pinion set (Black)
Bearings: Metal
Connectors: Gold Plated
Tyre: Stock Rubber

I greased all contact areas up with the stock grease and ensure all the components are installed properly (The engine mounting was tricky).

Though everything is new it seems quite slow. I read the motor needs breaking in but seems complicated and requires used battery & dripping oil.

I notice even without gear & engine the rear wheels can't be installed too tight to the bearing (will result in friction) while the front wheels have no issues tightly together and will spin freely.

Not sure is it acceptable result or i'm doing something wrong?

Any picture? Plasma dash cannot achieve
Full potential without Rechargeable Battery.
The current requirement is very high at 4200mah which normal batteries cannot reach.
At the most 2000mah tops, anything higher Rechargeable battery.
Plasma dash is top end but not suitable for Stargek track.
Stargek track the best is still hyper dash motor.
Unless long track like Japan than Plasma dash can used.
Gear ratio is also another thing for Stargek track.
Depending on the wheel size you use.
Only Small Diameter racing tires that comes with kits like Magnum Saber and etc. Can adjust gear ratio from 3:5:1 (Super Speed), 3:7:1 (Speed + Acceleration), 4:1 (Acceleration), 4:2:1 (Acceleration + Climb), 5:1 (Climbing gear).
Many do not know of this.
Large Diameter is only limited to 4:2:1 and above gear but not lower.
Some use large diameter with small gear ratio like 3:7:1 is wrong.
It maybe fast but highly unstable that is why many end up putting on a lot of weight.
Which they should do is to change to small tire if they want to use speed gear.
I am not a fan of Super II Chassis despite it is the popular.
The chassis is not suitable for Stargek track since most of their track emphasis on acceleration than speed.
Not to mention the track size is very small with lots of tight corners.
Super II have issues which I won't share it here.
If you want to conquer Stargek track, try exploring either VS chassis or Super X Chassis as these two are designed for technical circuits.
The tire those car on VS/Super X uses are far smaller than trim tire and it is called small diameter narrow tire.
Smaller the tire, lower the car height thus better grip.
Unfortunately that tire tread have no optional tires like hard or soft.
But there is small diameter offset/trim Tire (Tamiya 15396).
Try it, it will beat those use tirm tires.
Not to mention super fast cornering with no noise.
Hope this helps.

My own channel if you wish to have any tips and tricks:

Anything can ask/request, tested tons of parts/car kits.
Even tried to compete before, good timing but not good enough. :)
I have stop this hobby as well as uploading that channel.

Due to work so at the moment won't have any new contents.
Cheers.
