Your current 4G/5G phones will be out of security updates support before 4G LTE network is gone (say in year 2035 or a bit earlier).

6G network may start only in 2030, or earliest 2028 for small scale testing.

No idea here. I guess you have to go to the top Samsung Galaxy S24/S25/etc phones to be sure.

And even if the phone has the support of VoNR, the telco may not support, also no use. The situation is similar to VoWiFi but worse than VoWiFi as of now.

in my limited experience, the phone may support VoNR, but the telco may not support that phone, so effectively, from the user's POV, not supported

same situation with VoWiFI.

If you are on 5G SA that would also means falling back to 4G for phone call. Certainly not ideal.

I use my 4g everyday for phone calls. Seems fine to me. It's nothing comparable to the days where your 4g will drop to 3g during phone calls.

No. 5G NSA is still using LTE core, so VoLTE is native to it.
5G SA is the one that will require fall back if VoNR/Vo5G is not available.

Yes, 5G SA fall back to 4G is much likely less disruptive than 4G fallback to 3G, but is still not ideal.
Currently I believe Starhub (& MVNO) + Singtel MNO plans are doing this anyway.

As far as I can determine all Apple iPhones starting from the iPhone 13 models (including the 3rd generation iPhone SE) support VoNR from a hardware and operating system perspective, assuming you're not running an ancient iOS release. However, actual availability of VoNR is much more limited and depends on mobile carrier rollouts.

The iPhone 12 models are "interesting." Technically they probably could support VoNR. But evidently Qualcomm hasn't officially enabled VoNR for general use in their X55 modem (what iPhone 12 models have). SIMBA offers a voice mobile app that would provide a backup in the far distant future when they only operate 5G SA (and newer) network technologies, assuming their voice app continues to be available.

As of now, only for data. Voice still needs to use 4G (VoLTE) or WiFi (VoWiFi).

Very few Android phones support VoNR as of now.

Since Eight 5G can support VoNR, I believe StarHub 5G Unlimited+ and 5G Platinum plans can support VoNR.

But you probably need to use newer iPhones or some flagship Android phones.

No symbols for VoNR for iphones.

But you can enable VoNR and test it by calling the number and check if 5G symbol is still there during the call or not.
