while there is no need to own a laptop, its a plus to have one. Just wait till the whole world is using the one and only database server and it crashes. Or the times when the whole course is rushing for projects and no more free labs to use.

Of cos if u can get the programs to use on ur pc than all the better.

And I would say that it's common to see people rushing for computers when it's near project submissions.. But most of the time, I do get to install the software at home.. except for 1 or 2 cases which I can't... Can remember those days in yr 2..

Wonder if they got the hint about the network crashing and set up more servers...

Not to put down the orientation or what.. if you like can cabut.. once get matric card can go.. my school threatened if they don't come or what they won't get the cards. Even tho I came for the two days straight, my friends who were not there also got their cards.
If you don't have your card, you can ask your friend to check your timetable online.. all you need a name and person with a login.

Still remember the first time cheong 2FOC and 2FOW one shot... after two weeks no voice liaos...
After that cut down to I think 2FOW 1 FOC but still lost my voice...

Compulsory event? APEL is the TP Core subject that you'll need to take when the actual school starts... As for Orientation... basically it's to familiarize yourself there... briefly introduce you the subjects that you're taking.. And how to use the sch system... Of course, there'll be games organized for you (during my orientation.. it's a stupid one..

officially its compulsory for the orientation and apel. apel is moral education rebranded. apel ain't much really, just maybe some lects are very enthu about it, some juz can't be bothered much. you'll get the drift when you get there...

Mm, sorry just a add on here that though first yr itself can be a bit slacking, but it's crucial time for you to score well also.. If you only try to buck up in end of yr 2 or so, it can be rather late..

You can take either bus 22 or 24, alight at the bus stop after the cross junction at diamond industry building. Directly opp the bus stop is a Shell Station. From this bus stop take bus 8 and you will reach TP.
