Very good. Record earnings and stock goes down with fear in the whole market reminds me of Amazon back in the day. Good times lol. Have seen market cycles play out over the decades like the old uncle I am. Preparing buys order 5 shares at $800, 10 at $700, 20 at $600, 30 at $500. Alright Mr Market, let's go.

Hovering just above its 200 day moving average. A break below it will trigger shorts and how buyers support it will determine the direction of the stock. To me, it's in a downtrend hence the 200 day will eventually become resistance.

Tesla’s Drop Wiped Out $100 Billion of Market Value in a Day

Tesla Inc. shares wiped out about $109 billion off its valuation in the course of a single day after the electric vehicle maker’s fourth-quarter earnings and outlook failed to impress investors.

Shares of the Austin, Texas-based electric vehicle maker plunged nearly 12% on Thursday after an earnings call the previous day that was long on a humanoid robot called Optimus and short on new vehicles. The stock closed at $829 in New York, the lowest since Oct. 14. The decline was the second biggest on the S&P 500 Index on Thursday. The last time Tesla erased more than $100 billion in market value in a single day was Nov. 9.

Losing Momentum

During Tesla’s fourth-quarter earnings call Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said that the company would not bring any new vehicles to market this year. That was a letdown for many who assumed Musk’s promise of an “updated product road map” would include bullish news about the Cybertruck, Semi truck and plans for future, cheaper models.

“Tesla is clearly running out of momentum, and the lack of a launch of a low-budget car in the mid-$20,000 range really dampens the growth outlook as the competition tries to catch up,” said Edward Moya, senior market analyst at Oanda Corp.

During the call, a more broadly affordable, $25,000 version of Tesla’s mass-market Model 3 was dismissed as not being currently worked on, with greater emphasis placed on Tesla’s work around artificial intelligence and autonomy.

“In talking product pipeline, Musk pivoted from future vehicles (like the Roadster or <$25k Model 2) to robotaxis and humanoid robots,” wrote analyst Brian Johnson of Barclays in a note to clients. “While we recognize that robotaxis are a crucial part of the bulls’ ‘blue sky’ valuations for Tesla, we are concerned about the lack of a physical product pipeline.”

Additionally, Tesla’s Chief Financial Officer Zachary Kirkhorn warned that near-term higher input costs could impact the company’s market-leading margins.

“We are also seeing inflation and rising commodity prices which we expect to continue to put pressure on our costs. How this specifically impacts gross margins is uncertain,” Kirkhorn said.

The gloom from Tesla’s results spread to other EV startups as well, with stocks including Rivian Automotive Inc., Lucid Group Inc. and Fisker Inc. all falling 10% or more. Thursday’s rout adds to an already troubled run for these companies, which have been heavily beaten down amid a wider selloff in technology and growth stocks due concerns about rising interest rates. These three stocks combined have lost over $13 billion in market capitalization.

Cut your losses ... Don't hold. It overvalued.. You died.. !!! .. If this drop.

Or HODL til mid-Feb?.:

From one youtube comment:

"I'm in South San Francisco and just ran into a Tesla employee who said the stock will run up again in mid-February. He said that mid-February is the cut-off for employee's to buy Tesla stock at a 15% discount and Tesla is allowing the stock to drop for that reason.

He work's at the Tesla factory in Freemont which is about 40 minutes away from me. He stated there is a massive increase in production. They are working around the clock. He said the stock will massively rise in mid-February.

He also stated that for sure when the stock gets above $1,500 per share and sustains that price there will be a stock split as employee's can buy shares. He said employee's can't buy fractional shares for the 15% discount, so it would split again so employee's can buy at a low price. He buys stock through the company twice a year. He said do not sell your shares the stock will definitely go up."

I also noticed that record earnings these days won't move the stocks price up anymore

It might be holding up due to the anticipation of earnings call. Elon musk is going to announce the updated product roadmap too.

Given the bearish sentiment recently, it might plunge if there's delay in giga factories/cybertuck/4680.
Unfortunately, I predicted it correctly.

With marco still looking bearish, prepare for a wild ride.

But tsla is undervalued at this price imo. Can start the first trance at this price point.
