From what i know, there are over 200 applicants that are submitted to FIs. They are the ones that pass IBF assessment.
According to one of the FI's HR, this year's selection process is different from previous years.
Instead of applicants choosing 3 FIs, for this year, FIs are choosing applicants.
So HR have to comb through many resumes for all tracks to email / call for interview. Definitely will take a long time.

As for IBF/ FIs' selection criteria, not so sure about it myself.
But I don't think Govt/ IBF can force the FIs to accept those who are older/ jobless first.
I believe the FIs would still want to select the most suitable candidate(s) who can excel at the training program to:
- Benefit the FI's operations during the training duration
- If possible (budget allows) transition the trainees to contract/ full time employees. Don't waste sunk cost used to train them...
