Thanks neng002 for the details!

Can I ask what email did IBF sent out to all in mid August? I doubt that I got this email that u mentioned. May I know which day u received that IBF email in mid August?
Dear PCP Applicants,

Hope you have been well and safe.

We have received overwhelming responses of applications for both PCP Data Analyst and PCP Full Stack Developers. There is more supply vs demand. You may have been wondering what is happening with your application and that is something that we would like to address as well as share tips on how to bridge the gaps. We will also be sharing with you some of the PCP employers who are currently seeking for suitable PCP applicants. Employing companies are across industries like Fintech, Ecommerce, MedTech, Professional Services, Management Consulting and more.

Got this on 5th Aug... and one zoom meeting followed

I just got a mail from GS too, have an interview with the MD this thursday.

Does anyone here know when the DA training commences? As i am still employed with my employer I need to terminate with 1 month notice, so I am afraid even if i pass this next interview I will need to miss the start of the training and i don't know if IBF will allow it.
I think it's 19th Oct

son contradicting. more supply vs demand, means there's more supply, so what's the issue of not filling up the places?

More supply of applicants compared to demand for applicants

Supply is the amount of the good that is being sold onto the market by producers.

Demand is the quantity of the good that consumers wish to buy.

Here they are selling the seats for courses, not selling applicants. Therefore it should be the supply of seats for the courses vs the demand of seats (from the applicants) for the courses.

They are selling seats for the courses from our perspective.

From FI perspective, they are selling the program and thus the applicants to them. As the FI is the one who has the final say, they are the ones in control of the "demand", hence the applicants are the "supply".

If the slots were the supply and applicants are the demand, it would mean the applicants have the final say, but the applicants have no say at all, even if there are still many many slots left.

Hi,

Is anyone in this thread currently enrolled in the DA program and able to share their experience? I have a friend who is currently in the cybersecurity program, and she has shared that there is nothing much to do and learning is limited.

Better that you adequately prepare for the technical assessment. Additionally, make sure you spruce up your digital portfolio as well. Nowadays every singaporean is interested in DA, so it is going to be very competitive.

I know of people who took courses from this schools, and the instructor even personally mentored the students to get into the TFIP IBF program: https://heicodersacademy.com/

In the past NUS was the only training provider giving technical assessment for DA, now with digipet added, not so sure how much more difficult the assessment is.

Anyway, I have a business contact that is earning in the low 5 digit region considering the TFIP programme. According to him, he's planning to take NPL to experience and see if this programme will open more doors for him. This is the kind of competition people who are truly passionate are facing -.-

applying... but the tech assessment seems worrisome.

is your business contact in the same/similar line? if not, perhaps he is bored of his existing industry.

business development in tech, in one of the leading ERP system provider. Gotta say he will probably stand a damn good chance because of his understanding of the tech environment and concepts.

taking 18 months off NPL? that not possible as the FI will do a strict background check before accepting you.

Wanna find out from you guys, is the Training Provider DigiPen (Singapore) https://www.digipen.edu.sg/ good ?
What do we get in the end ? A diploma ? Is it recognised and I get a job using the credentials ?
For this program, who is sponsoring ? Is it the banks or IBF ? Any bond ?
Would a banking background be advantageous ? or IT background ?
Sorry if I have asked very rudimentary questions cause I just found out about this programs.

this kind of qns all u ask IBF coordinator better. they quite helpful and will reply u one.

no need to think so much before the program also. cause it is not easy to get in at all. can ask after u are offered better, since u can still reject afterwards.

I heard some of those Mid-Career courses are not very good. This one is 1.5 years for some, so it's a long commitment, Don't know if this Digipen organisation is any good.. any opinion is appreciated.

Thank you. Will check this out...

Cheers !
