But they didn't put this in the pre-requiste for applying for the course ? Then many people will be disappointed. I'm sure many people would have taken stats before but needed some refresher.

Yeah, they didn't explicitly state that. They don't really say much about the technical screening to be honest.

Ah well, I guess we will see. Are you an applicant as well?

I've been practicing on Leetcode.com for the past two months, so I hope that would help.

Thanks for the advice! Did you apply as well?
wah cool, by the time you get shortlisted should have 3-4 months worth of leetcode experience already. there also got teach how to tackle interview as well.

Hopefully it's helpful! I guess I'm also worrying a little too much maybe.

Just worried that they'll ask me about HTML CSS JS etc. Or to explain OOP or whatnot...

Yes, I've submitted. I thought they are going to train the people, didn't know they expect the people's going to be competent already. Didn't know it's going to be so tough for the test. Finger X.

To be honest, i dont think they will test you on algorithms at this stage (even the interview with FI), if they do that, its a red flag. Remember this is a career conversion program, while it is good that you're taking initiative to progress, I think FIs will have a mismatch of expectation there.

I would advise you to focus on learning end-to-end full stack dev first (Especially on front-end), since it will give you immediate return when u go to the course and workplace. Try to ask your employer what stack they're using. You might learn JS in the course and end up doingJava during OJT, but a lot of concept are transferrable anyway.

For last year, NUS test was pretty easy, simple HTML, CSS, DOM manipulation, JS function with a simple for loop. If you understand the basic construct, you will be able to clear it easily.

Hey darkripper, congrats on your acceptance! I saw your post last year that you got into AIA, was it?

How is your experience so far?

And thank you for the advice. I also don't really think that they will test algorithms. Unfortunately, I'm more acquainted with algorithms than DOM manipulation and JS. I guess I should brush up on that haha.

Yea. Me too. I had two other tracks in AI and CS that are under evaluation as well. Submitted all 3 applications on the first day of the TFIP application period.

Anyone knows if they evaluate all tracks before sending invites for technical assessment?

To be honest I applied for Software Eng track 5 days before deadline closed, and my application has been under evaluation for the last 5~7 days. Assuming they are evaluating in the order of time applied, I thought they would have finished evaluating applications for SE track by now. 😞

My application was changed to under evaluation a day before the deadline, so i was kinda excited. Days went by with no news diminished my excitement.. :(

Same here, my applications are now also Under Evaluation. I guess there must have been quite a number of applications.. Waiting nervously as well. What are you all doing in the meantime?

In the meantime, I'm...pressing F5

Well, I've also applied for AI track, so I'm reading up on ML algorithms. As for SE, not really sure how to prepare so I'm not preparing for it lul, hoping the technical assessment is language agnostic.

Working in Day and reading up programming stuffs at night.. while refreshing every 2 hours lol

Well, I applied on the first day and decided to go for CS on the last day. The application number was 74787 on the first day and was 85695 on the last day. I would imagine there are thousands of applications, possibly even 10k. Like balloting for BTO lol:LOL:

I applied for AI, and then 2 hours later for SWE and DA (think my time of submission for SWE and DA differed only by 5 mins) and my application numbers were 82466, 82472 and 82475. They seemed to differed by multiples of 3 so either a few people were applying at the same time as me or there's some gap in between each application number.

Feels like we are trying to solve the German tank problem now :s13:

Hahaha, I've given up on refreshing and will just see what comes of it. I guess there's not much to do other than to continue learning anyway.

I wonder what the numbers really mean. Can't be that so many people applied...right?

That would be a nightmare for the IBF team to sift through really hahaha
