sigh i still don't know why i'm having battery issues - thought its solved already.

anyone put it on stamina mode when you sleep? or turn off mobile and LTE? will connecting to wifi drain the battery?

for me i turn on mobile, lte, wifi, location and cell standby drains about 15% from 100%. is that normal? or do you keep your z5 plugged into the AC?

not sure if i'm having overly high expectations but the battery life seems worse than my iphone 5! lol

Stamina mode only turns off wifi and data when phone goes into sleep mode.

I would suggest to use Doze app, which also turns off background apps during sleep mode.

My Z3 and Z5P only experience about 1 - 2% drop in battery life overnight.

Sorry, not a Z5 user yet.
But do a check on the apps tats running in the background.
Im using Z2 now, waiting for my contract to be over...
What i encounter b4 was some apps (esp WeChat) was draining my batt even when im not using it. Not using as in i didnt even use the app b4.
i have the habit of closing all apps tat i dun need it to run b4 i sleep.
Yet, when i wake up, i see my batt is not 100% charged, but 80+~90+%
so, i finally found out is WeChat.
Thus i un-install it, i dun have this issue anymore.

So, u can either:
1. check wat is draining ur batt (from settings, power mgmt, app power consumption or battery usage)

2. like wat some recommend, use the app Doze.
I have yet to try this, but i believe it will work since it is highly recommended by a few members here.

n Sony is definitely better than Apple, at least batt life win hands down. :)

the app power consumption is working for you guys? mine been blank for as long as I had the phone. xD

also Stamina Mode is already a souped up version of doze. if it's not helping with battery life doze probably won't as well

You have it wrong, mate.

Stamina mode will only switch off data and wifi but Doze app will switch off the background apps.

The similar function for both is that you can add apps to exception list so it will still run in background during sleep mode.

Agree. I found one app (i.e. Singapore Map by Streetdirectory) that consumes a lot of batt if it is kept alive in the background. Have to kill the app after use. When my Z5 is placed in stamina mode overnight,

- 4 to 5% batt drain overnight, with Singapore map app killed.
- About 30% batt drain overnight, with Singapore map app running in background.

One other severe batt drain encounter with my android tablet is with a widget. Everything was running fine but power drain occurs after the widget rolled out an update. I used the android power management app or stat to nail down the culprit.

guys, I have been using z5 (dual sim) for almost a month now...really love the phone but problem is so far I still have not found the perfect case for it. Using a cheap TPU silicon case now with a tempered glass....

There just aren't that many choices in the market, which is frustrating. what are you all using?

Looking at spigen ultra hybrid and ringke fusion - worried that these are too thick and would add mass to the phone. If only they had ringke slim but was told that they do not make slim for z5 :(

I only stick tempered glass to the front and back of my Z5. Loves it though I always fear I might accidentally drop the phone.

Initially, I was contemplating to buy a Z5 to upgrade from my S3. In the end, I picked up a nexus 5X instead. No overheating and phone is blazing fast. Experience is a pure android at its best. I like the fingerprint scanner at the back and reversible USB type C connector. I don't need to grope anymore in the dark in order to plug in the cable. :D

Try this place.

Do note that Z5 case is not out yet (used to be very fast) & the price... is expensive! :D

Had considered the same too, but didn't coz the Z5 is only ~$85 more than the 5X and u gain stereo FF speakers, microSD slot, more capable (on paper) SoC, waterproofing and local warranty. First world problems... :)

I think the essential feature of android over ios is the expandable memory options.
It is up to individual to use SD cards, however this choice is not available for the fruity phone.

Ironically, they removed the option from nexus phones and fortunately the feature was still included for Sony phones.

There is a local warranty if you buy from sgbest. They will do the legwork.

FF stereo speakers, fm radio and sd card are its plus points.

The waterproofing thing has limitations.

Hi,

Someone know how does stamina mode works? I've tried to turn and tweak some options. 1 option can turn off your wifi and data if your screen is off but you can add app that can run in the background. If I add application in the exempted app (like Viber) will it turn off wifi or data?

Tried it but seems like it did not turn off the wifi but totally no message receives in the phone but my viber desktop keeps receiving message. Is that how it works? :s11:
