That is true for pretty much every market including US. In Jan it was expected that a swift end to the trade war will happen. But now, it looks like a recession is imminent, yet US markets are way higher than Jan.

I think the current HK situation is much worse than the SAR and 97 currency crisis but stock market correction is very mild..

At least at that time, we know there was a global effort to stop SAR and end 97 currency crisis ... This times we might see a violence end to the current riot or continuation of mass protestation which disrupt the economy daily.
