Trump is a master of playing with words and he is a businessman. He could easily say that he is not capitulating and that China wants to make the deal. He is already alluding to that. He said yesterday, China would want to make a deal, they cant lose billions.

Trump is playing short and his target seems to be quite far. He'll turn around once he reaches his target. Expect more tweets from him if volatility drops.

I thought the O&M portion represents a significant part of the business and this is quite cyclical in nature... dividend yield looks low so not sure if it is a div play per say.

many investors will agree with you, which is why I guess the price is dropping.

Stock markets across Europe is in the red with most down 1% or more. This in turn feeds into the SP futures which is currently down 1.08%. Going to be an interesting night.... can the US markets attempt a flush of stops below to spring for a positive close? Or we may see the stage set technically for a more bearish week next week?

I closed my OTM short call position now. Just managed to make 6 pts (US$ 300) on this trade. US market is bloody sticky. Hopefully we have more volatility next month.

No. Starhub has failed my fundamental test. The div yield does not look sustainable. Prior, I wrote that I would not touch Singtel and there is even less reason to even smell Starhub.

Tonight's session is quite uncharacteristic. All the gaps faded and would have caught momentum traders off guard. Those trading swing would have been off as well. Looks like squaring of positions ahead of weekend conflicting with the bearishness from Trump's tweet on new Mexican tariffs. So expect the unexpected.

MKR, since you are keen to learn trading, let me suggest you a book -

"The Trader's Pendulum - The 10 habits of highly successful traders" by Jody Samuels.

It's a very well written book where the author narrates the story of 2 amateur traders, completely different personalities and their journey from amateur to professional level.

Its available in our library.
