Bump post.

Looking for a leather messenger bag versatile for work and casual, and eventually down with this option.
Fossil Aiden E/W Messenger. Min $400.

Frankly speaking, the price is kinda above my budget, and it'll be pretty unlikely to see price reduction for this model during GSS this year. Is there any place in Singapore that I can find a similar leather (not PU) messenger bag (simple design, no redundant visible buckle) below $300? Whether branded or not is not my concern.

Realized there was no Bag thread.. and I always have to post a new thread asking for a certain type of bag.

Posting this thread for those people who want to find normal everyday bags/ bag packs. ( Not talking about elite bags like LV..) There's already a thread for that.



Anyway, my friend is looking for a messenger or sling bag..

Budget: $150 - $180
He is okay with it if it's just a little over the budget.

Purpose of bag: Meant for School essentials and possibly a laptop.

Material: Doesn't matter as long as it can withstand the weight of a 3Kg laptop with some books.

He isn't very tall nor big-sized, 165cm 56kg . So a big or bulky bag wouldn't really look nice on him.

Hope there would be people to help him out yea

Note: He was looking at some timbuk2 bags but wasn't sure if it is durable.. or worth the price.

I suppose your friend would want to use the bag for casual purposes as well, right?

I assume he's currently in Poly/University? In that case, a brown leather satchel would serve his agenda well.

Ladies love the classic look on Men at that age. Plus, the bag that a guy carries can really change your entire look.

Been looking for a stylish, large-ish backpack to carry my laptop, misc tech gear, and sometimes clothes + shoe bag as well.

Current backpack at 25L is bulging quite a bit with full load and not very stylish.

My other Timbuk2 L laptop messenger of 28L is also not ideal because everything sits in the main compartment and weight on one shoulder is no joke.

I have been eyeing the Mission Workshop Fitzroy and Vandal but it seems they don't offer that many compartments either and the price is rather

Where do you get your filson from?

A lot of online merchants sell filson, wide network of distributors. I've been using their bags for a while now, the construction is top notch but bags are too heavy. Very tiring to use them for prolonged periods.

Any other brands with a more formal/less casual aesthetic worth checking out? I think mismo falls into that category, but not impressed by the price point vs value

I prefer filson against gnome and bow. The heritage factor itself already wins hands down. Not that Im not supporting local brand gnome and bow, but I'm just a sucker for such stuff.
