I got a Star S5. So far so good. Can root. Only thing is can't find tpu type casing even from China websites.

Rooting is never an issue since the 1 same root tool sld work across all mtk quad core phones. The issue is whether there's gonna be any custom roms for the phone or not. But if u are not into custom roms and such then no problems there.

Brought my Newman k1 fr merimobiles. Overall a good phone. No lag. Just that memory is 4 gig n ram 1 gig. Screen is good at 720p

There is a 2G RAM/32G ROM version, initially I was also looking at this K1.
But the black front white back I don't really like it that way. Will stick to the
upcoming UMI X2 2G/32G version.

Huawei Honor 2 ,
Quad Core , 2GB Ram, IPS
Custom ROM Supports : 8.5/10
Stability : 8/10
Performance : 8.5/10
PPR (Performance Price Ratio): 7/10

Pros:
OEM Battery easily available, very nice IPS display, solid touch sensing, user replaceable battery, standard SIM size

Cons:
Single SIM slot, too much bloatware for non-international version (can be resolved by flashing ROM though), no local support, Custom processor K3V2 by Huawei (cannot load some 3D games), doesn't support MHL

You may ask question about other China phone model, I will try to answer them in the best of my knowledge.

Initially preorder jiayu g4 2g 32gb. But they keep delaying launch. Then change to k1 2g 32gb. But also delayed then got to go for 1g 4gb version. Mine is full black BTW.

I order thru Aliexpress same supplier I bought the Newman N1 last year.
Have told them to wait for the 1.5Ghz MT6589T stock as I not urgently
need the phone. According to UMI FB, 1.2Ghz MT6589 will be available
but the 1.5Ghz MT6589T turbo version will be in june or late june and will be
same price as the 1.2Ghz version. So I prepare to wait.

So with Lighttake jacking up the price for their Neo N003 pre-order, i had to look elsewhere for cheaper pricing n i found this:

Can. I ordered from merimobiles. Price about the same as antelife. Shipping takes 3 weeks.
