At my usual spot learning to fly when was joined by 3 fellow experience fpv pilots, but unfortantely there was some inference in the air causing all our transmitter and fpv to lose range 100 meters or so and it become the drone search and recovery day for us.
3 of my drones are grounded with 10 batteries remaining. 2 requiring repairs and one require motor replacement. Have Flying fun! https://youtu.be/QX_fxHLue9w

you guys are flying too near to stagmont camp

there are few tall metal structure at stagmont camp, hmm,... jamming antenna?

or may be they were conducting some anti-drone exercise, and the army guy was saying "wow, this electro-magnetic gun darn shiok! one shot only brought down 4 stupid drones".... :s13:

commercial equipment seldom create that amount of interference power and at that wider bandwidth

Well the funny part, on sunday i went back with the same drone about the same time and the interference issue is gone. But it started raining after my 2nd pack..

i thought you already installed beeper?... that interference was so big and so long time that you cannot even turn on your beeper after the crashed??...

when you flying fpv and the only landmarks are the trees around you, the tendency you get disoriented is quite high. i had crashed before and went the total opposite direction only when I gave up and walk back downwind than I hear the little beeps coming from the other side.
with 2-3inch drones. visually not possible to spot them, even if you use bright colors for props or stuff.

and the beeper strength is only 85DBI so with the environmental noise, you can only hear it when its about 10-20 meters away. its not foolproof since the sound can get muffled down by the grass or if the beeper is being covered..
than another problem is the battery runs out or battery get disconnected in the crash. the beeper wont not turn on.

if you can find a small light beeper(with internal battery) under 3 gram with the sound level of police siren do let me know okay?:s13:

:s12::s12: i'm not buying, i jumping for you to own one... :D

quick quick! time to upgrade your H502S to H501A!! :s12:

Indeed H501A the best of both world, can use phone wifi & hubsan own RC controller.

Haiz......my housebound "CFO" rejected my PO.... =:p

I think H501S-S is also H501A PCB but repackage with H901A transmitter.
Hubsan is cheap and reliable, and H901A has good user interface and simple to operate.
The new H501A seems like having better camera.

I'm not getting a H501S/H501A for following reasons:
- Camera on H501x is not stabilized. I have already got a tilt stabilizing camera on my diy drone. it helps a lot on the jumping video.
- H501x GPS position hold is good for people like me who cannot fly drones properly. But I had tested GPS is working on my diy drone with iNav software. It could do GPS position locking, but same as hubsan locking like housefly under windy condition (I do not why DJI is very stable, must be very good software algorithm)
- H501x is too big to go into my backpack, my 220mm diy drone could go into my backpack easily. Only problem is shorter flight time of 10min because of 5" propellers.
- I hate that troublesome Hubsan compass calibration process and 2-3min waiting for GPS 3D-fix. My diy drone can just take off immediately without compass calibration, without GPS 3D-fix. The diy drone will have GPS 3D-fix after 2-3min in the air, but pilot must know what he is doing.

so, not getting a H501A yet, but slowly fine tuning my diy drone.... :s8:
umm,.... you wanna try assembly your own drone??... :D

Very nice size transparent box. Been looking for something like this.

Brave video btw... I wouldn't try flying a brushed drone such a distance over water lol.
