Hi guys.. I've been reading this thread for a couple of days and would like to seek some advice from the seniors here on getting my first drone. Have played with it here and there a couple of times before and am looking to get one to play around with the aim to move onto playing the FPV mode (if poisoned may start to invest abit more in proper gear, i.e controller, goggles, DIY Kits that route). I've done abit of research and narrowed down to the following few options:

1) DJI Tello - $120
2) SYMA X21W WIFI FPV With 720P Camera - $54 on BG
3) SYMA X22W WIFI FPV With 720P Camera - $50 on BG (this seems to be best bang for buck)
4) SYMA X23W WIFI FPV With 720P Camera - $57 on BG
5) JJRC H44WH DIAMAN 720P WIFI FPV - $32 on BG
6) Eachine E013 Micro FPV RC Drone Quadcopter With 5.8G 1000TVL 40CH Camera VR006 VR-006 3 Inch Goggles - With Goggles - $87
7) Eachine E58 WIFI FPV With 2MP Wide Angle Camera with 3 batteries - $77

Any advice on which to get? Have also considered the JJRC H36 as well, but am thinking if it would it be better to invest onto one with FPV at the start?

Get 1 cheap drone without altitude hold n see if you handle the learning curve. Its not easy at first u need to put in effort n stick time to be proficient at it. Altitude hold drones are easier to fly because u can let go of your throttle and it will stay there. but Fpv and manual drones need constant controt n adjustment so it is not for everyone. I probably fly fpv for almost a year now and i see ppl try n went into dji drones for that purpose instead. Find out which type of flyer u are first. Dont invest much until u know which type of flyer you are.
My last fpv flight video for reference.
can tell im not very good and need alot more flight time n practice

Oops! sorry, balik balik, my mistake.. i thought you already set your mind into racing drones...

which type of "FPV" are you looking for?

Racing, Aerobatic FPV?, then suggesting get eachine 013

Exploration, Video filming FPV?, then suggesting get Tello

;)

haha nope, you're absolutely right the first time, am looking at racing drones... I saw the blade inductrix as well, but felt that it's abit not bang for buck LOL...

did more research last night and found a few more options... too many choices quite a headache!

Eachine Q90C 1000TVL Camera VR006 Goggles Switch Freq Transmitter - With Goggles - $109 (have the option to go acro mode, and slightly more powerful than the e013)

Realacc R11 Mini 5.8G FPV Foldable RC Drone Quadcopter with 720P HD Camera 3 Inch Goggles - With Goggles - $72 (cheapest bang for buck, but read that the camera FOV is a real let down..)

Would it be too fast to move onto brushless motors at this stage?

Eachine EX2mini Brushless 5.8G FPV With Camera + FPV Monitor + Glasses Mode 2 - $145 (seems like a steal!)

MJX Bugs 3 (no camera, no goggles) - $90 + potentially more when have to add on camera and goggles, but at least get to mod and mix and match my own

I am using Jumper t12 with tbs crossfire
Fatshark google with rapidfire module
5 inch quads are custom built, entry level types.
If u really instrested to try out fpv. There are some bundles with mini whoop that comes with a transmitter n cheapo googles that cost you less than 200 dollars. If u jus want to try out flying first, get a jjrc h36 or furibee f36 which cost u 20 bucks. Get more batteries though

Guys

I am looking to get the Mavic 2 pro drone, mainly for photography on travels.

I looked around and most major retailers are selling at 22xx. Some small online shops are selling at 19xx. Any recommendations? Looking to buy official set.

I think S$19xx is about the lowest price for pro. May be you should call those lazada sellers with proper retail shops in s'pore, ask them to package with fly more accessories (you will need this box). Packaged deal should be cheaper.

I bought my mavic2 zoom $1615 from banggood, and fly more accessories S$430 from carousell.

ok,... good!,.. you go find+buy one good set and after you tested is fun flying...tell/teach me instead, :s13:
i'm thinking of getting something like eachine e013 without goggle. I cannot fly with goggle, I will get dizzy,... I need one tiny whoop 65-90mm size for indoor... :s12:

I am thinking of just getting one extra battery. Is the other stuff in the flymore package really useful?

I am Thinking of packing the Mavic in my photography backpack plus one battery. I am not looking at a whole day of flying. Just the ability to grab that few Ariel shots when the opportunity present itself.

Below are the kind of shots I take... though I think getting the drone to behave might be tough

wah, and how much did you roughly spend on your setup?

I've narrowed it down to these two options.. any thoughts or advice?

haha, i don't think i'm even close to the level to teach you yet... i did come across some of the other forums recommending Eachine M80 or QX65 instead of the e013.. not sure if it's something within your budget range though, but definitely not something within my scope at the present moment..

if just some quick shots, 1-2 batteries should be enough. and airplane's safety check might not allow too many big mavic2 batteries when go oversea.

depends on what you want to do, if you into HD recording with a micro size whoop. I recommend modular 7.
But its out of stock everywhere I heard.

my friend install caddx turtle(1080p recording fpv camera) which is over 12gram and still able to fly pretty smooth with it.

modular 7 itself is a crazy powerful whoop. definitely not for beginners, once you try this you wont touch any other 1s brushed whoop.
alternatively you can check out tinyhawk too, it too is a powerful whoop size micro but only runs on 1s, dun think you can mount hd cam on it.

Hi, I do not own a Mavic Air, never fly one before, but so far I do not find anything bad about Mavic Air.

Whatever I do on Mavic2, it seems like it can also be handled by Mavic Air. Mavic Air is half price of Mavic2, and the extra battery is S$70 vs S$150. If you are not going for professional photography, Mavic Air should be good.

Have fun flying your new drone, and happy birthday! :D :s12:

I was flying my boss's mavic air for 2 weeks b4 I purchased my Mavic2 zoom, both drones were flied for work in Vietnam... I can tell you that after u touch Mavic2....u won't want to touch Mavic Air anymore...:s13::s13::s13:

Mavic2 is expensive but the experience wise was way better.
