Phone fault or singtel reception fault? Tend to received text message very late when required for Otp whenever want to log in singpass etc

If you are talking about the push notification, then yes, there is a lag.

I always need those push notification for password entry when I do bank transaction or any secure website. I realised the push notification will have a delay. But, there is no delay if you open the default Message app.

So for me now, I will always stand-by the default Message app whenever I need to do the secure transaction to receive the OTA password key entry. And I will still receive the push notification later even though I have already received the SMS via the Message app.

in summary, my personal experience noticed there is a delay in receiving push notification but if you stand-by and open the default Message app, you will receive the SMS faster than waiting for push notification.

Maybe its telco related? Am on starhub and my otp sms or sms notification from bank comes in very fast. Without default message app open.

Hi, been having the Note 8 for close to a year now. Recently noticed some issues.

1) I don't receive notifications when I get Whatsapp messages. On Telegram, the notification will appear for a while, say 15 mins, then it disappears. Other times, like Whatsapp, it does not appear. Thus I have to keep on going into the apps to check for messages. I have checked the settings and everything seems to be in order. Reboot and even reset the phone as well. Anyone having the same issues? And if so, how do you solve it?

2) I realized that my Note 8 is not flat/even. When I place it down on a flat surface, the right side (the side where the headphone jack is located), seems to be a little higher than the other side. When I place it with the rear cameras facing down, I can just tap lightly on the bottom right (where the headphone jack is) and the phone will move down a little, as there is some space between the phone and the surface. Same goes for when i place it flat down, the top right also seems to be a little higher. Is this normal?

Finally, does warranty cover the above 2 issues, more specifically the 2nd issue?

1) Are you on power saving mode?
There's a setting that disable background data access.


2) Is this right from the start? Else they could probably say u damaged it by sitting on it .
This case, it's better u go to the service center and see what they say. The rest of us only have opinions which does not count for much.

1) Nope, I am not on any power saving mode at all. I have tried everything including reinstalling the apps and checking the settings, still no solution.

2) I have no idea to be honest. I only just noticed it. But I do not sit on my phone. Always take it out of my pockets.

Worst case scenario.. back up all data on Google drive, uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall bk..
