You need an interface to match the phone graphics to the monitor... that's what the DeX does... you're still actually using your phone... just the display changes and the way the interface works is in a more familiar format.

Erm....the Dex is roughly the size of the wireless charger, which is already considered quite small for a docking station.

So if always on the move, should always bring the Dex and cables to connect to monitor/keyboard/mouse while the Note8 acts like the CPU and docked on the Dex.
