How to know how long to wait then buy so you will get the later revision?

:s22:
Any major dissatisfaction should surface within a week.
Problem like exploding battery or bootloop due to soldering issues then you got to wait longer

If pre order, add the Samsung concierge is it can exchange if got problem with first batch? Thinking of pre order because usually have free gifts.

Pre order can buy phone without contract? I using simonly plan.

Samsung's on-screen fingerprint sensor rumored to cause display brightness issues

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-samsungs-screen-fingerprint-sensor-rumored-cause-display-brightness-issues

From the article

"....... integration of the fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy Note 8 prototype failed as it led to uneven screen brightness. Apparently, the area occupied by the fingerprint sensor looked brighter than the rest of the the screen.

....... If Samsung cannot address this issue in time, the Galaxy Note 8 might miss out on the on-screen fingerprint sensor. Apple is widely believed to have succeeded in implementing an on-screen fingerprint sensor for the iPhone 8."

Guess we're going to have to wait till the S9 or Note 9 for it.

1 to 1 within first 30 days.
But from experience with Note 7, it'll depend if they have sufficient stocks. Stocks are directed to sales channel first rather than service centers.

And, it's all from the same manufacturing batch which means it's possible it'll affect all units in that 30 days.

Do people here usually like to pre order or wait a few months then buy?

I like to pre-order.
There's the thrill of getting my hands on a new model after months of waiting.
I also like to get concierge for the 30 day exchange which is important for any early problems, and 50% repair costs.

Many people here will say wait a couple of months though.

Samsung might unveil the Galaxy Note 8 on 26 August in New York

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-samsung-might-unveil-galaxy-note-8-26-august-new-york

From article

"...........The Galaxy Note 8 is said to be launched at an event in New York on 26 August............"

"..........Galaxy Note 8 would come with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, a slightly improved S Pen, dual cameras on the rear, Bixby and a rear fingerprint sensor....."

I don't really mind since I got used to s8+ fingerprint already

Seem like more and more bad news to me.

Only 3300mAH battery, no change in FPS position as S8 according to rumours in this video

Samsuck decision to not implement the on-screen fingerprint on NT8 ish a deliberate move, not bcos they unable to find way to do it.. the tiongs and ifong already knows how to implement it, how can the koreans dunno.. :s22:

reason ish simple, if they were to one-shot introduce all the features then what's there to showcase in their next flagships aka S9/S10, NOTE9/10 etc..

Implementation of dual-cam ish a bopian to them alr as nowadays dual-cam fones are the in-trend and are fast dominating today market/world of smartfones.. they unable to put it off any longer, else they might just delay till (at least) S9 then implement it.. (in fact their C10 got it first)

$1.5K for an extra 2GB of RAM (internal storage of at least 64/128GB), S-Pen, dual-cam and possibly stereo speakers ? Not sure if its worth the price but even if buy wif the cheapest telco plan, it will cost at least $700-800..

Samsuck ah samsuck.. :s22:

Yes! Please price it higher and higher so more people will stop buying your over-rated phone. BTW, Samdung is not the only Android OEM. Hahaha...

Note 7 price last time price is how much?

What is the use of dual camera? Is it clearer than single? Capture more wide angle?
