Galaxy Note8 to be the most expensive Samsung phone yet, to launch in mid Sept?
http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-galaxy-note8-be-most-expensive-samsung-phone-yet-launch-mid-sept
From article
".......Galaxy Note8 would be launched in the second half of September with a price tag of €999 (~S$1,550), making it the most expensive Samsung phone yet....."
".....6.3-inch edge-to-edge AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, Exynos 8895 or Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras (12MP sensor each with an independent OIS for the lens), a rear fingerprint sensor and a 3,300mAh battery....."
".......expected to be available in black, blue and gold........"
slightly more than 900?Note 7 price last time price is how much?

Note 7 has larger battery. But $400 more than Note 7 is crazy!Roughly S$400 more than Note7 for extra 2GB RAM and extra 12MP camera and larger battery
But the price is slightly more than the 6GB RAM 120GB storage S8/S8+, right???
Samsuck decision to not implement the on-screen fingerprint on NT8 ish a deliberate move, not bcos they unable to find way to do it.. the tiongs and ifong already knows how to implement it, how can the koreans dunno..
reason ish simple, if they were to one-shot introduce all the features then what's there to showcase in their next flagships aka S9/S10, NOTE9/10 etc..
Implementation of dual-cam ish a bopian to them alr as nowadays dual-cam fones are the in-trend and are fast dominating today market/world of smartfones.. they unable to put it off any longer, else they might just delay till (at least) S9 then implement it.. (in fact their C10 got it first)
$1.5K for an extra 2GB of RAM (internal storage of at least 64/128GB), S-Pen, dual-cam and possibly stereo speakers ? Not sure if its worth the price but even if buy wif the cheapest telco plan, it will cost at least $700-800..
Samsuck ah samsuck..![]()
think about this, why would AT companies share their secret with competitors since android oem phone manufacturers' profit is so thin already
samsung couldn't make it in time for S8 and now still couldn't do it for note8 once again... have to wait for next year for s9 and hopefully it can do it by then after 'copying' the technology

it was 1168 if i rmb correctly..

apple has figured out how to make fingerprint sensor on screen, same as AT companies but sadly koreans not as smart as them right nowthink about this, why would AT companies share their secret with competitors since android oem phone manufacturers' profit is so thin already

sadly, the crown of the phone for year 2017 will very likely go to iphone8 since this newest technology is the most satki right now. note8 has what most other phones can do at this time already and their only rival is iphone8 only. imagine unlocking phone with your fingerprint on the screen, this is really cool leh. no more extra hole at the back for the case
ya i rmb it was around this price too as i initially wanted to get note7![]()
Well, Apple is also having roadblocks with the fingerprint sensor on screen and will delay the iPhone.

What Samsung did was smart and logical by releasing the phone earlier but without the new technology. By releasing on time, they hv the advantage to sell more phones. How well n8 sell depends on pricing and how they market the phone
also, seems like iphone 7s will release first then iphone8 1-2month later.
we can be very sure that note8 will not be cheap looking at how much s8+ is (as expensive as iphone 7+)

It's definitely not good to implement a new technology if not ready. But now they are putting the FPS back at the same spot as S8 where almost everyone is criticising, that's really a very big disappointment to me.If the rumors are true, the issue with the on-screen fingerprint sensor for Samsung phones is that the area for the fingerprint detection will always be brighter than the rest of the screen.
Maybe it's something about AMOLED screens and the fingerprint sensor not able to mesh well???? More tweaking needs to be done to ensure the color brightness are evenly matched, and who knows what other technical issues there are that are not leaked.
It's not only about who gets what out to have an advantage, but also whether if the implementation is smooth with minimal issues. Let's not forget if the suppliers can provide the components on time or not. Many times phones get delayed because of insufficient component supplies as well...

Are you sure its exactly at the same spot as the S8/S8+?
The leak mentions rear fingerprint sensor but not the location of the sensor
Maybe Samsung has lowered the sensor location?
We can only speculate at this moment, unless the rendition of the final product is leaked, which I think will be leaked in a month or two max

u can see friends telling wahh soo awesome leh, fingerprint unlocking beneath the screen like magic
just like s8 having infinity screen also wow by many iphone fans looking at their big bezel screenLatest leak (from someone with a 100% track record) suggested it is, though it's supposed to have a bit more space between the camera and the FPS. That will be even more awkward to me
of course best to have fingerprint sensor on screen since note8 is going to be super expensive! At the back is one thing, but beside the camera is another thing. And they still want to put it further from the camera, means it will really skew over much more to one side than nowthe thing is, if they are able to do this, it will definitely be with minimal issues. no company in the right mind will push for something that isn't well tested. this is esp true for apple looking at how particular they are with quality. they spent A LOT on R&D and can form a team just to test their ear phones are compatible with sweat in the long run and that really impressed me when i was reading about their extensive research. i believe that's why iphone also have a better fingerprint sensor compared to s7e, it's lightning really fast! yes i'm jealous, told you guys before i only get 70-80% success rate of unlocking phone with my thumbsometimes 3 tries also cannot
the first phone (samsung or apple) who has fingerprint sensor on the market will be shinning and the talk of the town of how cool it getsu can see friends telling wahh soo awesome leh, fingerprint unlocking beneath the screen like magic

i think habitual finger placement would make the user more accustomed to using it at the back? my friend using s8+ seems ok with thatof course best to have fingerprint sensor on screen since note8 is going to be super expensive!
Actually,if you hold your phone and look at the natural placement of your index finger, you will see that it is more ergonomic to hv the fingerprint sensor skew more towards the edge. BUT, it looks ugly and not as friendly if you use it on the wrong handAt the back is one thing, but beside the camera is another thing. And they still want to put it further from the camera, means it will really skew over much more to one side than now
