Try safarees the barber shop chain, I ised to patron the one at Hougang green mall since I was a kid, unfortunately I moved house a few years back and haven't been there since.

Didn't try the other outlets in their chain though, I now go to an elderly Malay barber in West coast block 700+ can't Rmb the exact Blk number. His service is ok so far. Only had simple crew cuts, side shave cuts

If anybody goes to bkk, at Rod Fai Night Market (the one near Seacon Square) there's this pop up shop called Silvercut Barbershop

Gives good gentlemen's cut for only 300 baht (sgd$12). My barber was super meticulous and skillful.

Only downsides are that there's no washing before or after the cut, and that there's no mirror. So you have to communicate well beforehand (ie for me I told her no hard parts, just simple combover)

Other than that, I felt that its very value for money for the quality of the cut

Out of curiosity why so many guys into these trending barbers? It's like these barbers invested in a shaver, practice on their friends then decided to open a nice looking shop front with hipster name, wear super tight shirts with suspenders and pomade hair and moustache and start charging people $50 for a haircut.

For $50 can easily go to a senior stylist at a reputable salon who went through proper salon school.

I think salon and barber styles are quite different, in terms of hair cut experience and treatment.

In terms of barber, personally, I think it is up to individual whether artisan barber or those quick $10 shops. Relationship with barber maybe? Same like a stylist.

Just guessing. Don't speak for anyone. I usually just go whichever is convenient. Pricing is not the biggest consideration, especially if the barber or stylist can make me look like Beckham

It's just a trend. It's like how suddenly cafes are popping out everywhere, that's what barber shops are doing now. Charging upwards of $35 a pop is crazy.

I used to do that, paying $35 for a barber cut but the fades and all only last 1 week before my hair grows out and then it looks normal. Not possible and plausible to pay $35 every 2 weeks for a cut. That's $70 a month.

Now, I usually go over to JB to get a barber cut. Same thing, paid in RM and it's only RM20.

Can afford to shave every week.

Am only more familiar with this other one - Three Brothers Barber Shop (Near Chatuchak MRT)

They had a collab/ visit by the Schorem scumbags and exploded in popularity. 450 Baht (SGD$18) for wash and cut, they are always fully booked so you got to make appointments in advance.

Found an article on Bangkok's New Wave Barbershops, Blue Harbour that bro Thai_Rak_Thai recommended is also featured inside. Just sharing since bkk is one city that many Sgreans visit.

For those visiting BKK you can drop by David No.5 street barber, located next to the Sala Daeng BTS. Pretty good cut and unique experience. 200 baht a pop.
