Shave and haircut is separate pricing as all the different barbers. Is not festive hike, is perm hike since new year day.

Details of pricing can call them up to check.

Damn shiok Experience go for Sultan. Men deserved to be pampered too.

Haircut go for Hounds. But not everyone have the luxury of time. Go camp early before open shop, bring a book you been wanting to read etc.

Next I plan to try I need a hero and panic room. Then save up for Truefitt and Hill trip at KL. who else did i miss out?

Just went for a shave at HOB today. Only one thing to say. Im very dissapointed.

It was the most horrible shaving experience I've ever felt. 15mins of pain and i was left with razor burns and a couple of cuts on my chin and neck.

I would like to qualify my review firstly though. They did everything right. The proper shaving procedures were followed(hot towels, pre shave balm etc), and the ambiance of the place is good as usual. The only thing lacking was the skill of the guy doing the shaving. I would also like to say that I'm no newbie to the wet shave experience and i do wet shaves myself at home. I knew the moment the barber made the first stroke that i was in for a hell of a ride.

The angle of the blade was totally off and too much pressure was applied. He did not follow the grain of the hair in certain places. After 5 min of facial scraping, he did another thing which i totally disagree with, which was apply a 2nd hot towel. This is rather unorthodox as hot towels are usually done only once. Even after a proper shave, the skin would be too raw and applying a hot towel induces nothing but pain. The rest of the experience was normal(cold towel, alcohol rub etc)

At $35 for the shave, i expected a true relaxing shaving experience at the hands of an experienced barber. Clearly this was not the case. Yes it is no Sultans of Shave or Truefitt & Hill pricey, but its still a premium amount and should be backed by a premium service. I've had better shaves from run of the mill $10 indian barbers. Im disappointed to say the least. Its a shame coz i went there for a haircut once and it was a great experience, which made me come back here for the shave. Attached are some pics of the aftermath. A friend even asked me if i was shaved by Edward Scissorhand. Lol

Looks terrible the shaving. I m wary of barbershops now as I m quite particular about shaving. 10 yrs ago an old Indian barber shaved me very badly and I left with a bleeding face. Makes me developed barber phobia.

I have been going to panic room in geylang. They used to be at Neil road. Nice and cosy place, I get muff to cut, but have tried all the barbers there, all cut very well.
Been to autocutt, but the experience wasn't pleasent. Will never go back there

Joel Phua @ We Need A Hero

Joel Phua is at Jermyn Street now.

Had visited We Need A Hero sometime mid-last year and was served by Joel for a haircut only. Must say the experience was very professional-much like most of the beauty brands operated by the Sap Esprit group.

They were even offering complimentary beverages from Tiong Bahru bakery a few shops down! Service was as follows:
1)Wash
2)Consultation with Barber
3)Cut
4)Finishing

Joel was very friendly and chatty. I had left it up to him to cut my hair however he wanted and he did not disappoint. My hair was cut in manner where it retained it's shape for about a month-which is surprising as most places are unable to deal with my thick and tricky hair growth.

The only downside was there was no rinse after the cut, which result in me shedding loose hair as I went about my business in town afterwards. Would strongly recommend visiting Joel at Jermyn Street!

Premium Barbers @ Orchard Gateway

Visited in August last year.

Poor experience. Was attended to a female barber-who I was informed only started that week.

Paid for full service which includes massage, and only got a haircut, wash and styling. I had wax on my hair and she decided it was better to attempt to cut my styled hair instead of washing it off. Was given a raw shave which stung as well.

Not worth the price, based on my poor experience.

Service wise I would say not bad... So far, tried the service from 3 different barbers... Price wise I think abit steep for its basic cut, wash & style... And they are always fully booked... Very hard to secure an appointment...

Hi guys..Ive been over at A few Good Men Barbers at Everton Park. Ambience was fantastic. Great barbers..nice to chat with.

Traditional meaning your friendly malay uncle, then yes. If by traditional you mean all these new barbers then they are by no means traditional.
