Hi MacClipper,

I just oc my 4670k to 4.4ghz using the extreme 4. Ran linx64. But I am wondering why my timing so much different from urs. Urs is 5plus seconds whereas mine is always 10plus seconds. Any clue?
Prob. you used more RAM loading than my quick screening runs.

Big congrats on getting yours to 4.4GHz easily, I have been wondering if our local batch is consistently better than others. :)

Thanks. By running linx64 without errors means it's stable?

Experience freezing on the uefi screen on the extreme 4. Check some other forums also got pple experiencing same problem.

Can anyone confirm this guy's findings of his mobo vcore options?

No adaptive voltage option???

For MSI Z87-G45, to "truly" activate adaptive voltage, I need to turn on "Dynamic Mode" for the CPU ratio mode if I am doing OC.

By default, is "Auto".
For OC, we need to turn on "Fixed Mode", but it removed EIST option.
"Dynamic Mode" allows adaptive voltage changing while OCing, which includes EIST and Turbo forced on.

Other than turning on "Adaptive voltage" vcore mode + "Dynamic Mode" cpu ratio mode, there seems to be no other way to make it work though. At least for MSI side, from what I see.

Any downside to Dynamic Mode cos looks like MSI has finally made oc + EIST work for their Haswell mobos? :)

Hmmm.. Didn't notice any downsides though/yet. :s13:

It's great to have the processor + fans running slow and cool while idling.
Saving power and low temps are always a great thing to have.

On the other side, Dynamic Mode gives me POWER :flash: on demand.. Nice ;)

Definitely way more rigorous with AVX Vcore boosting to 1.272V than Cinebench 11.5 and yet the peak load DTS is only just 2C more. :s13:
