BTW those looking to buy leather in A4 sizes, not worth it. Just buy an entire hide of vegetable tan leather. Smallest size I've seen is perhaps 9 square foot and total price can be ~$50.

Enough for many projects especially small goods.

A small A4 piece will result in lots of waste and hence spending more money. Buying the entire hide will also teach your about leather quality and different parts of the animal which is important if you want to be a decent leather craftsman.

Shops:
Malayan Trader - has cheap veg tanned leather.
Grand Leather - also sells simple tools and thread.
One more near Malayan Trader but I can't remember the name now. Sells leather dyes and glue too.

Start up price is perhaps $100 for a very basic set up, perhaps expect to spend at least $100-200 on good tools. You will need a hammer, some awls and needles at the very least. Next most important if you can afford is pricking irons, stitching groover, skiving knife. It's easy to pick up but you won't progress very far if done half heartedly.

Saw ebay, and together with the shipping cost, is not really worth the hassle..

Managed to find?

Else, anyone knows where to get Chamberlain's Leather Milk Leather Care Liniment No. 1 here in Singapore???

I have loose pieces to sell. Not the complete set. You can try Daiso. They sell a few items.

I only know where to get cheap tools in China. SG, the tools are twice or thrice what's selling in China.

I have needles. What size you want? I have small, medium and large. How many pieces?

Yarns, I have also. Black? White?

Mallet I have also, slightly used.

Round punch I have also, full set. I bought them in China brand new but there's rust on them. Even if you buy anywhere else, most (if not all) of them will have rust.

I have markers too.

Chisels I have one or two for selling but I don't think you can do anything with those that I'm selling. Probably better for you to get the full set from someone/somewhere else.

Snap fasteners, can buy at the craft shops in SG. Even those paper market stores and Spotlight and People Park's complex sells them.

Hi all,

Newbie here. I'm intending to get a new mid-wallet from Obbigood Label. Are their items good/value for price? All my wallets so far are those off the shelves (Stussy, Braun Buffel, etc) and I want to get something different for a change.

Also, how should I care for the wallet? Owned a leather belt once, but my unfamiliarity with the material and my laziness to read it up on care instructions properly lead to it drying out and cracking prematurely. Is regular oiling just sufficient, or do I need to apply all kinds of solutions? Where can I buy such oils locally? Am really interested to venture into the path of leatherware products, would appreciate all kinds of help and comments, thanks!

I would say ogl products construction are certainly decent. Regular oiling is sufficient. Unless its like dirty or muddy that one different story. Normal mink oil is enough, more heavy duty would be obenauf. Google for them. I would say go ahead and get them if you can afford and the wallet will servr you well.

Nonetheless, getting from local craftsmen are advantageous as its the stitching that tends to fail first instead of the leather and the craftmen who made them can repair them.

Shamless plug: got a used but not abused black snakeskin long wallet with rein for sale.
