Need help with leather bag

Dear bros and sis,

I recently bought a leather bag from Morocco, Fez (at one of the leather manufacturing place), pretty sure its genuine leather, and was recommended by the shop owner to apply olive oil on it if I want to darken it. But when I did, I found loads of black spots on my bag.

Please see images:

Initially I thought it was probably just uneven patches, so I applied 2 more layers of oil, but it didnt work. I also tried brushing lemon juice on it as advised online.

Really desperate and would appreciate if anyone here can tell me what are those and how can I remove it.

Try Saphir Renovateur followed by Cream Polish in the colour of your bag. Would advise against using olive oil again.

Hey guys,

Been following the thread but I dont recall coming across this. Is there anyone in Sg doing simple belt commissions?

I prefer my accessories to exclude a raw feel, a thick full grain piece (method of tannage depends), unstitched with very minimal edge dressing, buffed and exposed flesh side and simple nickle/brass buckles. But am looking at more dressy colours like Oxblood/Burgundy, Navy etc than the usual Oak brown, Light Veg Tan offerings.
