Hey, been thinking bout buying one and i've got several questions to ask..

1. Is the maverick semi auto ? auto ? or do we have to pull back the handle after every shot...

2. Does the Nerf RapidFire use batteries ?

3. Doesn't adding more springs make the plastic like crack when fired too many times ? because the plastic wasn't made to handle such impact ?

3. I know this ain't the most powerful gun ... but the AirBlaster Double Shot Shotgun seems kinda nice... Is there a mod for this ?

Hey, i have one of those Buzz Bee Double Shot blasters too, grabbed a set recently when they were on sale at Toys R Us.

Its not a very effective foam dart shooter, but its quite a fun blaster by design, especially when the shell cartidges pop out from the twin barrel whenever its cranked open for reloading! Hearing the empty shells "clink-clink" on the floor is just priceless! Great to simulate Humans vs Zombie games.

Imho, it's the perfect prop gun to act out that famous "Boomstick!" scene from the Army of Darkness movie!

the answer is no, the rapid fire 20 requires one to use manual force to pump air into the pressure chamber.

-the mav is simply like a revolver gun,
when you cock the gun it does not turn the barrel like you think it does,
when the trigger is pulled the barrel turns just enough so the next bullet can be fired.

-adding moderate springs like nite finder spring probably wont destroy your gun,
i currently have a longshot that has a cut down ar-15 spring,nite-finder spring and longshot spring,it shoots quite a distance but it has not broke yet so this should prove that adding springs will not necessarily destroy your gun but a combination of stronger springs might
need reinforcement.

-and there are mods to this gun if u checked nerfhaven or nerf hq,
both do have mods for that gun....

Also, that means for your longshot, you bought spare nerf guns just to remove the springs and put them in your longshot ? isn't that kinda expensive ? 20 bucks for a spring ?

But reading the link, it doesn't seem to have much firepower(which is ironic for a shotgun), and i'm not of the idea of sawing it short....

Well, i had a bad experience with those, somehow after a few yrs there was a leak in the air chamber.. Will this be an issue with the rapid fire ?

But i gotta say, it really is mighty impressive..

If you're a zombie movies or games fan, i think you'll definitely have to get a Double Shot for your collection!

You should get rapid fire from buzzbee too, has a clip to hold 6 shells and pops out of the chamber everytime u reload...works exactly like a M1 carbine!

Yup, i also have the Buzz Bee Rapid Fire too.

For those of you who are thinking of getting some Buzz Bee blasters, here are some snapshots of what i have collected so far:


Buzz Bee Collection (From Top: Big Blast, Double Shot, Rapid Fire)

Buzz Bee Double Shot (Manual Load/Reload, Shell Eject Mechanism)

Buzz Bee Rapid Fire (Magazine Fed, Crank Handle Load/Reload, Shell Eject Mechanism)

The Buzz Bee Rapid Fire and Double Shot blasters use a shell cartridge system, and its compatible with all Nerf foam darts. They both have fire ranges of around 30 feet too, around the same as most Nerf blasters. The fun feature is seeing the shells flying out when reloading!

The Buzz Bee Big Blast (black coloured launcher at the top) works basically like a mini-Nerf Titan, just pump the rear handle approx. 15+ times, then put a yellow foam rocket into the barrel and fire it. The range is also around 30 feet.

Although the build quality of Buzz Bee blasters are not as solid as Nerf blasters and the designs are abit simple, i think they can be an interesting and novel alternative.

Buzz Bee blasters seem to be only sold at Toys R Us locally, there should still be stock avaliable at the various outlets. Each blaster is usually priced in the $25-$30 range.

Btw, I've personally found that the Buzz Bee Rapid Fire tends to jam quite easily (a common issue with most magazine fed blasters anyways) and the arming handle can be abit tough to crank, i guess it needs abit of practice to use properly.

On the otherhand, the Double Shot doesn't jam at all due to its manual loading system, and its trigger mechanism is 2 stage so it can fire two shots in sequence or both at the same time.

I've tried those before, they are basically sub-par copies of nerf blasters by Banzai Toys. The mechanisms are quite similiar to nerf blasters, but with much lower build quality (the spring handle broke after a few shots). There is also a 6 shot version too, same dodgy quality too.

At $49.95 a pair, its abit too overpriced for copies. In comparison, you could get 2 x Nerf Mavericks instead and yet spend less money (and have proper nerf blasters).

Yup, i got the Big Blast from TRU at Suntec a few weeks ago. I actually chanced upon it in the outdoor sports section (TRU's shelf arrangements are getting quite confusing), there was only 1 box left so i grabbed it, only cost $25.90. Not sure if there are any left in the other outlets though 'cos i've not seen anymore since.

Alternatively, you could try the Buzz Bee Mega Missile Blaster (should still be avaliable at the various TRUs), its a small yellow-coloured version that uses the same foam missile. Range for the mega missile seems oddly limited though, on the box it states 7.5 metres, which is around 25 feet. I suppose it can be easily modded to fire further!
