Wrong thread to ask I know but still want to ask what are your recommendation other than Nexus 4?

I had originally wanted a Nexus 4, but after knowing that Oppo Find 5 will sell in Singapore officially in end Jan/Feb, I'm shifting my gaze towards that instead.

That's the furthest thing from the mind when one looks at the specs of the 5.

If not looking at Nexus, and not those manufacturer overlays, that leaves just hardware, I would put only Samsung and HTC out there, in that order. But since u hate AMOLED, then your remaining choice is valid - just that I rather detest the expandability choices of recent HTC products. It's the same for the Nexus 4, but that's due to lack of choice.

If it was my choice, Samsung+AMOLED+expandability vs HTC+LCD+straitjacketed, I would pick Samsung. But that's MY choice.

And let's not forget, most of us would avoid LG like the plague if it wasn't for the Nexus 4. Give them a chance. At the very least, Oppo isn't a totally unknown brand.

I flash my android phone/tablets to aokp/cyanogen anyway, so the original software is really redundant. Looking at the low price, high specs and the large release market of Oppo Find 5, I expect there to be a good amount of brewed ROMs and support at xda.

All phones are made in China. I took me years before I grudgingly accepted the superiority of Xiaomi phones. If I accept that, there is no reason for me to reject Oppo.

There are different categories of MIC manufacturers. Oppo has already established its reputation in other electronic products, so I trust them more than some unheard of brand.

The local warranty is just icing on the cake.

And if you're interested in the Nexus 4 anyway, then all that is to make the hardware match the software is for a port of CM10.1. Which I have no doubt the chinese people will be able to hammer out in a timely fashion, given what I've seen so far.

Admit it, you're running out of excuses. At the end of the day, it's the brand lah, ok?

i must say quality and fitment wise for the diztronic is sweet. almost perfect.

yeah sort of. both me and my gf are on nilkin hard shell. i nvr fancied hardshells so it was temporary before i got the diztronic. so my gf now uses the transparent case while waiting for her diztronic to arrive. lol

I'm interested as to what your definition of 'normal usage' is. Cos my usage for today, batt down to 32% liao and it's only 9h30m on batt (2h10min on screen). No way can I drag it to 24hour+.

My "normal usage"
Music using earphones - 1 hour
Games - 20 mins
Videos - YouTube about 10 mins
Surfing using chrome browser/email - 1 hour
SMS/whatsapp - dunno how to gauge this but quite frequent
Calls - approx 20mins
Camera - about 10 photos and playing around with photo sphere for 5mins

With my S2, doing all these stuff will not last more than 12 hours, so i feel the nexus 4 battery life is good enough.
