Noobie question on rooting :) once I get my N4 first thing to do is root :o

What's the install from SDcard thing, when unlocking the bootloader?

Also, what's the difference between kernel & ROMs in layman terms, thanks!

Because there is no actual SD Card, so the 'SD Card' you're seeing is emulated. Therefore, if you are gonna flash any roms/kernels via Recovery, be sure to download your files into SD Card folders (usually just let it be in the download folder, it shouldn't be very complicated).

What is a Rom?
XDA Developers said:
A ROM image is a data file that contains information used on a Read Only Memory chip. For our purposes, that means a complete system image of a device. Each Android device has its own ROM image that contains files and code needed to boot the device up and run Android on it. But this is only part of a ROM. A ROM also contains a GUI (graphical user interface), required and useful applications, support files for those applications and the kernel. Let’s have a look at the parts that make a ROM.

In other words, ROM contains files and code to boot up and run the OS with user interface. Custom Roms usually comes along with their own kernel.

What is a Kernel?
The kernel is the main component of most computer operating systems; it is a bridge between applications and the actual data processing done at the hardware level. The kernel's responsibilities include managing the system's resources (the communication between hardware and software components).

Anyway, did anyone bought any Nexus 4 pouches from Etsy.com? I wonder if they fit in the pocket.

anyone know hows to resolve this wifi bug issue?

Connected to my router, speed is freaking slow, most of the time wifi will show grey colour instead of the usual bluish.

I suspect i kena the ARP thingy for nexus 4.

Updated my nexus 4 to the latest CM10.1 with franco kernel still doesn't help.

Where can I get nfc tags for nexus 4 in singapore?

I am on Starhub and when I had my S3, I had the Wallet app from Starhub that ran in conjuction with my DBS mobile. However this Starhub Wallet app does not support N4 so its NFC is useless here. (Hopefully I'm wrong?)

Anyone ever successfully recover deleted image from nexus 4?

mind to share how to do it and which apps is recommended?

I accidentally delete my camera folder... :(

Thanks a lot,
Kebo

Run gallery app, DCIM folder will be created again.. Don't need to load full image again, a reset will do the same job
