camping for LTE.. and also jumping to Nexus 5 from Gnex.. :D

Judging from the N7 LTE sets, there will be 2 variants of LTE model.

US/JP and rest of the world.

when N5 is released with LTE, we will have to source from UK or Europe.

The sets from US play store will only have US centric LTE bands which dont work in SG.

You have lobang to source from UK or Euro?

If you check the N7 2013 thread, some early birds have already tested the USA sets they purchased to have LTE speeds in Singapore.

For maximum frequency coverage, of course EU sets will be better.

Nexus 4 3G speed

Hi everyone,

I have purchased my nexus 4 from US this February but only start using a Singtel 3G postpaid plan recently. I tried the app speedtest.net to check the 3g speed (the netwrok type during testing is HSPA+). The result is very disappointing, 300kb to 400kb for download and 200kb for upload. The postpaid plan i am using is actually for an Iphone 5s (I sold the iphone).

Can someone please tell me what is the normal 3g speed when using Nexus 4?

Thanks.

The surfing is quite OK. But the Youtube is very laggy.

its better if you try another area and verify...i'm not a fan of speedtest so try to ignore it and do actual usage test. even better if you could use the same sim on another phone to compare

Thanks. I tried different places already, quite consistent results. I just assumed that the sim card is fine.......

I can hit a max speed of 1.8Mb/s on Stinktel prepaid pretty much about everywhere(less the train tunnels...)

There is no normal speed that people can tell you. It's all based on your location and luck. :(

At my home (Suckhub), it's so slow most of the time I shudder to even use it on 3G. However at Chinatown (no idea why), it's so freaking fast it can stream Youtube HD without lag.

On a side note, LTE at my home area (on another device) is faster than my previous Suckhub cable broadband, but at my parent's place in Serangoon, LTE is nearly non-existent. At the end of the day, it's all luck of the draw. :(
