I just ordered, so here are the steps.

1) Register at Forwarding service connecting overseas customers and Japanese online stores [ Tenso.com ]
2) Send over photocopy of your IC/driver's licence/passport front and back. They just want to know your name and address as Japan's laws dictate they have to do this.
3) Install VPN, I used OkayFreedom. https://www.okayfreedom.com/
4) Get a Japanese connection using OkayFreedom.
5) Go to https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_5_black_32gb and select your choices. I used Chrome's Incognito mode (Ctrl-Shift-n) so I can translate the website and avoid signing out of my real Google account)
6) When you click checkout you will be asked to register a new Google account. Register for it with the address provided by Tenso. (Guide here: Shopping on Japanese Websites)
7) Click buy and wait for the item to arrive at Tenso.

When i tried to key in my bank details on tenso registration site, it shows
"Your credit card transaction could not be processed due to an error in the credit card information submitted.
Please check your credit card information, try another credit card or choose another payment method."
how do i make it work?

I don't think so. I've been reading the N5 threads on HWZ and quite a few people are questioning the Non LTE support in SG as they say 1800 spectrum is supported here so the phones from US will have LTE like the N7 LTE from US. I guess we'll only know for sure once the US phones arrive here

I was replying to a forumer who asked about 3G compatibility lah.

Guys:

(1) No one in here is organising an MO. Even if they were, you think they so free to PM everyone?

(2) LTE Bands for SG are 3 and 7. So US version will work, but not be able to achieve LTE speeds.

Correction. WCDMA and LTE are different things, do not mix up the 2.

LTE Bands for SG are 3 and 7. So US version will ***not***work at all.

But you will be able to achieve ***3G speeds via the WCDMA*** for in Singapore.

actually if there's anyone who are willing to help order 4 sets, maybe the group can split the shipping cost among other 3 to give some incentive to the person who is doing the order, who do you guys think?

Not really. Its when you first create your account, Google will assign you to the country you connected from. So if you use an exisitng account, you would have already been assigned to Singapore. You can try to change it, but google will still know you originated from SG already.
Only way around is to connect via VPN and open a new account so you are detected by google as originating from that country.

Also, as with what happened with the N4. Do not keep logging into the new account via SG IP. I read cases on XDA where google cancelled their pending order as they were not from USA.

If you read past cases for Nexus 4, some people had their original accounts temporary suspended when they tried to change their accounts to US based.

That's why for some choose to open new account to avoid affecting their primary account.

In my case, I started out mine Google account with SG address but have since changed it to a US address via VPN when I purchased a N4.

Thanks so much for highlighting that.

I stated that in my article, and I don't know why people keep asking about the LTE support.

From my time here, I noticed most of the time these "people" like to be spoon-fed information rather take the time to read.

You have to add your billing address as Singapore's I think. DBS also SMSed me to ask me to confirm.

Now I'm not sure if my payment went through or not since it keeps showing up as Pending on my Google Wallet.

a lot of people just come into the thread and post, without reading what has gone before.
