Latest news mention it might sell half of a price of ip5s, about USD350.

sounds like a bad news so far. maybe will keep this purchase off.

more expensive, and does nothing more. maybe faster processor and slightly better camera only i guess.

let's see if it's enough for me to upgrade yet.

How is it more expensive, 350 is maintaining the old price...:s22:

Furthermore 350 off contract is a good bargain for such specs.

bear in mind there will not be a 8gb version.

so 350 for a 16 gb is not a bad price

hmm.. given the specs.. they opt to use a lower battery capacity with a 1080 display..

expecting the battery life to take a hit.. to power the high resolution and the big screen
so different from the ideology of Moto X

unless something big changes in Kit Kat..

and the camera.. Nexus though is a developer standard phone.. seems still be with a lot of compromise.. they worried people going for the Nexus brand instead of their partners?

It's precisely because it's a dev standard phone with price/features balance in mind that's why there are "compromises". You want the best in everything hardware related, don't get a Nexus.

if it's really using the WTR1605L chip (just like nexus4) from qualcomm then it's usable in SG.

we are using LTE band 3 and 7, unless they block it in the software like what they did in nexus 4

You root your nexus?
rooted, unlocked, and all on stock with franco kernel.......

Don't think of root like some 'deep magical mumbo jumbo....android rooting, especially nexus devices are so easy to root and unlock, that it would take 5 minutes....

and even if you screwed up, you can always revert back to factory images that's available from google directly......

the process is as simple as this for nexus devices..

1) Unlock (fastboot oem unlock). Reboot.

2) Install custom recovery (fastboot flash recovery recoveryimagefile.img

3) put supersu.zip flashable in root directory. Boot to custom recovery. Flash the zip. Reboot.

Rooted and ready to go!!!
