I heard that Google PlayStore is getting really picky about international purchases via VPN and address billing trick. My dummy account attempt to purchase books and music via VPN has been a hit and miss, sometimes success, sometimes failed for no apparent reason, then sometimes success again. If anybody has a sure way of successfully purchasing from Google Play, do you mind if i tag along? :D

rooted, unlocked, and all on stock with franco kernel.......

Don't think of root like some 'deep magical mumbo jumbo....android rooting, especially nexus devices are so easy to root and unlock, that it would take 5 minutes....

and even if you screwed up, you can always revert back to factory images that's available from google directly......

the process is as simple as this for nexus devices..

1) Unlock (fastboot oem unlock). Reboot.

2) Install custom recovery (fastboot flash recovery recoveryimagefile.img

3) put supersu.zip flashable in root directory. Boot to custom recovery. Flash the zip. Reboot.

Rooted and ready to go!!!

So mafan, just use nexus rooting tool kit lah

If you are that lazy to type a few lines, honestly you shouldn't be screwing around with the firmware of your phone.

Of course I can't tell you what to do with your property and hence, the above point is just my opinion.
word.......those nexus rootkit is cool and all but i fear some ppl root without knowing what rooting is...and when some little things screwed up...they wouldn't know what to do....

it's like those auto-transmission cars creating a group of really lousy drivers that have no right to drive in the first place....(some don't even know how to change gears or what those gears are for for god's sake!!!)

for me, since i did the manual way since the days of android 2.1 nexus one, i can tell you that as long as the phone hardware didn't explode on me....i can definitely get it back to the way it's supposed to be no matter how hard the software is screwed up....

but I digress...let's get back to topic...nexus 5!

I really like the soft touch of the Nexus 7 so I'm hoping the Nexus 5 will be comfortable to hold as well.

I had my fun typing adb commands during my htc desire days where bricking its very common. true I'm getting lazy now a days.
Just want a fast root and install my preferred rom.

Bigger battery = thicker phone? But so far nothing to suggest we have another model with different dimensions.

True, no sources at all. Nothing in previous leaks to suggest a 3000mAh battery, just wishful thinking I guess. Although the LG G2 has a 3000mAh battery and is only 8.9mm thick.

Latest rumours:

Nexus 5 16GB 2300mAh battery - $299
Nexus 5 32GB 3000mAh battery - $399

Google Nexus 5 price tipped to be sub £200

Interesting... if true i'm getting the 32GB, 3000mAH battery on this will be awesome!

Lol me too, may consider 32gb, just a bit more than my N4 16gb but 16gb still sufficient also... I still have about 9gb free space for my N4 till now.

Anyone can advise, I din bought my N4 at launch, so on 14 Oct is just announcing N5 or launch for ordering??? Thanks.

Same....last time got lots of free time to do all those googling and typing. Now choosing roms/kernels I choose those that don't update too often. :D

If you're not in the US, then regardless announcement or launch also not much difference. :D

But going by the way Google does their stuff, it's going to be announcement only. Launch another later date.
