anyone have problems with quick charging? my like not working. might it be because I am custom ROM?

I don't think custom Rom will affect the quick charging as it is hardware based as the charger which comes with the phone is having an output of 1.5A, that is the reason for quick charging.

Yes. Definitely Rock leather casing is the best choice as I am using that on my Xperia S and it is so much better than any other casing which I used before.

Yes, carlover is right. I tried using my quick charger on gs2 and its fully charged faster compared to normal charger.

New firmware (6.1.A.2.55) available for the Xperia S

Some new firmware has started rolling out for the Sony Xperia S (LT26i). Firmware version 6.1.A.2.55 has not appeared on the PTCRB website so far, but despite this it is now available to download in Singapore. Changes over the current firmware version (6.1.A.2.50) are unknown right now, although it does seem to be using a new baseband. This Android 4.0.4 ICS version cannot be rooted either using the existing root method from Bin4ry over at XDA.

Anyone here try softbrick their phone b4?

I think i got softbrick. The phone will only show sony logo, try soft reset and hard reset but would return to sony logo.

Never try any custom stuff, only update via pc companion. Would a bad app cause this?

Tried using the Repair function in PC Companion? Note that all your data will be wiped.

I've downloaded the FTF file from XDA instead. PC companion also says mine was .45.

The strange thing is that when I connect it in the afternoon, I was prompted to upgrade to .55 but I did not.

I tried again in the evening but the upgrade prompt was gone.

You can use the Update Service to update it to .55 and I feel the phone is much faster than before, the 3 touch screen buttons also much more responsive than before.

People keep saying the touch sensitive buttons are more responsive for each update, personally i don't feel any difference lol. Just hope the firmware irons out all/most of the bugs..

btw, still no update for mine yet =(

Didn't try repairing(didn't check thread) and went ahead flashing ics. Learn how to flash phone, data are gone too. sad.

When flashing, u should unchecked wipe data. The option is at the right hand side. Wipe cache, app log. Leave data unchecked. Then yr data and app will remain after flashing

I did try, but without checking wipe data, the phone just went back to sony logo only. So i try with wipe data check and i get back my phone.

Have any one experience this b4? i think was a bad app(game). The game was going haywire, i ignore it and carry on playing it. Haywire like random level jump and sudden addition or substraction of item and building.

Maybe the game was malware.
