now alot of screens have this yellowish tint, which apparently they say is "warmer" and brings out vivid colours. i think it is just a loadfull of bullsheet cos my Arc is beautiful without the warm screen.

there is no need to make the screen yellowish to hide the patches, cos when you have the patches, it is damn obvious.

What i do is i use the app to make it "cooler" by adjusting the blue

i doubt any screen is 100% white these days. iPhone screens are pretty yellow, and the Samsung Galaxy screens are known for being extremely blue-ish.

Huh? Serious bor... They did that? Can snap picture on a new and old screen see see or not? I only got the old screen (which has yellow tint ones).

hahha arc s still the whites whitest panel lor
plus if u noticed arc s micro USB port is gold thinted it looks like gold
gold is one of earth better material to make the metal less corrosion

it ually on high more exp.comp parts like key broad and USB mice
but comp parts most got gold coated too

Not to mention oled screens do not last long with white colors. I am happy with screens with a bit yellowish or bluish effect, as long as it is not totally visible.

Power button by the side.
No cover for usb port like Arc/ArcS.

These 2 already won me over. But heck...i still love my XS every moment of it now.

i took a pic using my nokia xpress music 5730. Both phone at 100% brightness and the room lightning might had abit of effect on the comparison.
Anyway, i dont like the new lcd screen when watching the video only, normal usage ok la. When i watched the avenger 1080 full hd trailer, the skin color very orange, looks fake n disgusting. Totally different from when i watch it with the old screen.

Sounds like no water-resistant feature. But from the looks of it, it may be easier to handle with one hand compared to xs.

I am lost at step 5 and 6. Do you mean extract out the content folder and filesystem from file folder since it is zip??

for your step 6 rename which file? do i need to copy and paste the rename file back to Documents and Settings\Roderick Low\My Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\Phone backups (for your case)???

Hi !

No need to extract. Just double-click to view the files in winzip. Within winzip, just delete the "Files" folder directly and close it. After which, rename it back to .dbk extension.

So far so good after replacing screen last Saturday at J8. Overall, I feel that the richness of the color has gone down a bit IMHO. But the distinct yellow tint that i had at the bottom of the screen is definitely gone.

By the way, before I left J8, the sales boy was trying to sell the SGD$198 Sony SmartWatch.

Getting It Replaced For The Second Time!

As I reported that my replaced screen was still having the "yellow fever", the service centre told me to use it first until they have enough stock... I thought they meant "months".

To my surprise, I received a call from Bishan service centre yesterday morning to send my unit in again within the day itself. He was very polite and assured it would take 3 days at most as they will attend to it immediately. Moreover, they aim to finish it before the service centre's renovation that begins on coming Monday!

OK, this incident has somewhat touched me and given me an impression that SONY is still trying, pretty hard, to get back on track. Kudos! Keeping the customers happy is the key in every industry, isn't it?
