Just put yours in a bumper it will never have any issue.

I put mine and dropped accidentally a few times before no issue

I know how to do that. My question was whether he received it via OTA.

My apologies for the misunderstanding. Having said that, either via OTA or self install, the result should be the same. No need to wait for OTA if able to self install.

After updating manually from the site now I keep getting a prompt for the previous version because the latest one isn't available on Ota yet -.-, so it assumes I'm using an older version

Update 457 was recalled, update 458 now is rolling out progressively over Ota that fixes some of the stuff that was incomplete in 457.

I just dl the file, move it using file explorer into root directory, go into settings, check updates, click the settings icon at top right settings icon, click local upgrade and select that file.

Boom, done in 1 or 2 mins. Why need to root and flash etc leh

No root or custom recovery required. Download OTA file, move to root of internal sd, go to check for update screen and hit local update. Done.

Yes it is a global phone. OnePlus 5 supports download speeds of 600Mbps and upload speeds of 150Mbps thanks to the use of 3x carrier aggregation, 256QAM and 2x2 MIMO.

You can, but you will need a forwarder, since OP won't ship direct. Or you can purchase from Lazada, which is OP official channel to purchase in SG.

buy direct mean u need to use forwarder. and even for warranty, you need to use forwarder for both way.
