No longer the flagship killer at low prices.

Now the price about the same as S8 which is retailing at 880$

It's not low price, but considerably lower than other flagships. It's also not fair to compare export with local set pricing. If want to compare, should compare against their US pricing, i.e.,

S8 = $724, S8+ = $824.99
OP5 64GB = $479 (-$245), 128GB = $539

So yes, OP5 is still considerably cheaper than S8.

Street price for S8 has gone below $900 so it's not too much higher than the oneplus 5 now, considering the fact we have almost zero warranty for oneplus.

It's still at good buy but has become less compelling and no brainer to get oneplus phones.

For the ones who only want pure android then that's the obvious choice. I think even the G6 is not a bad choice at $680 now with 2 years warranty

Here all elite one , no flagshit specs no count :s13:
Tbh 6g is really more than enuff considering most flagships are still stuck at 4g ram

Actually ya 6gb more than enough already as I'm using Mi mix now but sometimes it does end up with stutter when too many things are open.

HK still got stock so got accessories still? Need to get a case and tempered glass :(

Which forwarded is good for HK to SG?

True but for the local buyer, it becomes unattractive because apart from the no warranty status, the price compared with say a U11 with 128gb becomes not good value.

Yes, that's fair from SG buyer perspective, no argument on that. Was comparing based on "general" perspective, since OP does not decide on the pricing based on SG perspective.

They mentioned better network support and one model for global market during announcement, so i'm curious if that means that if you get the China model with Hydrogen OS, is it just a firmware flash to convert into global version?

Unlike previously with OP3T where specs listed for china variant (A3010) and global variant (A3003) had different supported bands, OP5 in China seems to support the exact same bands as the global variant. If true maybe we can find cheaper ways to buy the phone after all like through qoo10 with coupons through resellers. :s13:

Now is all about choices.

1) buy S8 and stuck with their SuckWiz UI, no root & bootloader unlock.

OR

2) buy OP5, get a near stock android experience. Allow you to play different kinds of customs.

S8 anytime. The design wins hands down.

Unless you are staying in US, i think we should compare it with SG pricing since we are all using it in SG

Yea quite ex from a SG perspective:

[USD 480 + USD 20 ( for shipping to sg) ] * 1.07 * 1.4 = S$750

S8 is around S$880

wait for Lazada price...

Lazada is OP official channel into SG? Or is it 3rd party retailers that flash oxygen os from their china variant?
