I would suggest Aerocool E85M 550w / Aerocool V12 600 / Andyson F650.

All of the PSU that I recommend has 80+ Bronze which provides better efficiency hence help you to save electricity.

The PSU that I recommend is based on your budget per se.

If you just require 80+, can go for Aerocool Horsepower 500w.

The higher end Andyson might be better but I'll suggest you go for Corsair because it's a Seasonic OEM.

Right now I am using only 1 of 2 molex to connect to the pcie connector via adaptor on gfx card, any issues? Gfx card able to run and gaming normally, no warning msg or shutdowns.

I don't have any spare molex on separate cable and from what I read online there is no point connecting 2 molex on the same cable. In fact it'll be more dangerous...overload

Should I upgrade to another psu with dedicated pcie connector?

I have a Dell Precision T3400 with standard PSU (325W I think).

I tried to install an ASUS ENGTX295 (1792Mb) card, but there was no response. I assume there is not enough power from the existing PSU to run this card.

Does anyone have recommendations for suitable upgrade PSUs for this system ? My budget is around $300.

CPU is a Q6600 Quadcore, 8Gb memory, 2 internal SATA HDDs, 2 external SATA HDD, CD/DVD drive. Dual boots 32/64 bit Vista Ultimate.

What if i am using GTS 250 now? Just got the card yesterday.

Can bootup and played some games, no problem so far...however the psu almost 2 yrs old.
In tight spot as my PSU only have 2 spare molex and both on the same cable...

So far online search, the majority consensus is, best case senario plug each molex to individual cable should be fine.

But if 2 molex from same cable to the adapter is not advisable, may cause overload...

For now since I plug in only 1 molex no problem, will continue till i change to a newer PSU.

1 molex or 2 molex only diff is the cable load/temp. i nv heard b4 2 molex from same cable to the adapter will overload. usually the gfx card will draw only the power it need. if u use gts250 den i suggest u touch the cable after gaming see hot or not. otherwise ur cable cao tar

Would the Corsair TX750 be a better choice than the HX620 ?

Try to reconfigure your cabling to see if you can shift something to this cable so you can split the load for the graphics card.

Alternatively, getting a molex splitter is a cheaper option to add a connector to one of the fully used cables. Although the power draw of the GTS250 isn't likely to cause a problem.

Currently my cabling is as follows:

CABLE A ( 2 molex ) --> 2 dvd optical drive
CABLE B ( 2 molex ) --> 2 sata hdd
CABLE C ( 2 molex ) --> 1 for gfx card / 1 for 80mm fans

I can try to split the CABLE A but its quite a reach to the gfx card but until then it shall have to make do till my next psu upgrade.

Depends which brand you buy loh... some are 2 and some are 1

The supposedly reference nvidia design for GTS250 is 1 connector only but they don't restrict the vendors from using custom pcbs
