Gregko, are you feeling that the psu only gives 5 yrs warranty because it is not good? Cos I dun see why a PSU with 5 yrs warranty is bull. But i do see appreciating users sending me 2004 purchase for warranty claim & leaving with a replacement that is not possible if it came wif a 2 yrs warranty in the 1st place.

But i do agree with you about getting reviews and feedback from real sources. Me representing a distro aside, this is also how i buy most of my other electrical stuffs like TV, handphones, etc. But if the pdt has a longer warranty period than others, it gets extra brownie points from me.

5 years warranty. but theres alot of hidden tings inside the metal cover of the PSU. trust only 80plus certified PSUs. nothing can go wrong. dont believe any distros. believe real sources and reviews.

its about money and electric safety. . wanna risk expoloding the whole system becoz a PSU is not deemed fit and use inferior components that undermines actual product quality and control?

to me is, if a product is damn good, it does not have a need to suffice 5 years warranty. 2 years infact is more than enough. PSU with 5 year warranty is kinda bull to me.. PSU wont last 5 years. by that time. . so many capacitors/inductors and the damn transformer melted already.

i disagree, why would any lousy power supply give 5 years warranty?
it will only add up to their RMA cost.

so if another power supply is so "so damn good", why not give more than "2 years infact is more than enough"

btw, my own acbel ipower 450W is running 24/7 for more than 3 years liao. this is the kind of quality they deliver, thus the warranty

To share, my Tagan 450 on my system called `Bukit Timah' is 3.5 years old. Now every passing day I get more and more scared and concerned that it need to change. But it still working

probably i'm not as concerned as you as i have faith in my acbel.
but too bad my acbel is 3 years warranty one...so if have 5 years warranty i will feel safer

actually even if Tagan or enermax give 10 year warranty for PSU, I will change after 3 years. My HDD, I will change after 3 years also. Other things never mind, can last until they break. But PSU break - catch fire. HDD break - lose data. These 2 I will change regularly even if never break.

well, i agree on the HDD part as data is priceless and i experienced the agony of dataloss before...arrggh

but a good quality psu, is not suppose to catch fire or bring along any parts if they die.

have you experienced the sheer terror of PSU fire before? I have. Several times. Luckily, in the office.

When PSU catch fire, ALL SYSTEM COMPONENTS fried. ALL. No exception. Means whole system except casing throw into trash.

Currently this list is for modular psu only, I am not sure whether Corbell brought in the modular Acbel M8 series? Please update me if there is any news.
