hey everyone..
i'm experiencing a bit of a overheating issue with my psu
i've notice that whenever i'm plaing graphic intensive games or stuff.. i realize my com is ultra hot..
when i say hot i mean very hot.. hotter then usual.. around like 45-50 degrees.
it's my PSU.. when i touch the casing.. it's the psu that are emitting the heat..
anyway i'm intending to change a PSU, maybe to a R8 607W psu
any advise guys ? the cheapest and best ?
my rig is there --->

Your 440W might be running at close to full load, which is causing it to run hot.

Changing to a higher wattage PSU should solve the problem.

Ok I have just confirm the Gigabyte Odin GT Series currently only have 550W, the rest of the models should be coming in by next year.

hey everyone..

try what i did:

remove the PSU from the casing, run the wires thru casing opening for PSU to the motherboard and other devices. now check if your PSU is hot, if the PSU fan has rpm monitoring lead to motherboard, even better.

my old enermax 431W will run its 80mm at full speed when system is under full load. but a check with energy monitor show the system only draw ~120W from wall socket, way lower than the PSU rated power. when i remove the PSU from casing and run it, the fan never go over 2000rpm. so in my case, it wasn't struggling PSU but a system too hot for the PSU--hot air drawn into the PSU, the fan have to work extra hard to exhaust them so as to not overheat the PSU component.

For this kind of case, a bottom-mounted PSU will definately help, fresh, cool air entering the PSU instead of hot air...

remove PSU casing.. never tried it before..

anyway the reason for changing PSU is to have some extra room for overclocking
and i know my PSU is running close to full load.

He didn't mean remove the PSU casing, that is dangerous and voids your warranty. He meant remove the whole PSU from your comp's casing (which holds the motherboard, hdd, optical drive, etc...).
