Folks,

Note 5 is still a solid phone!:)

I don't fancy double-side curve display of Note 7!

So, is it still worth to buy it now be it a brand new or used set?

Need advice! Thanks! :)

Hello,

Had anyone replaced their Note 5 Battery?
Please share how much did it cost for the battery itself and the service charge?

Is there any Express Service Counters?
I remember when I had to replace my Note 3 camera module, I went to this service center that had technicians sitting all around in their own tables. When they are done, they'll call the owner and explain the problems.
All this was done within 2 hours.

I tried chatting with the CS, and they said they have to take my phone for 2-3 days for a battery replacement. So I was wondering, is there still the express service centers?

The battery is not removable... so they will need to dismantle the phone and put it back together and test that the phone works properly before handing it back to you. It will take a while.

I came from note 5. Battery sucks.

Went to mi5 instead. Got snapdragon 820 inside.

Traded in my Note 5 64gb for $550 and bought Mi5 64gb for $460. Best deal ever.

It was a China set but I flashed global rom on it.

Mi5 got so many software updates like nexus series, price good, performance is REALLY fast.

I believe Mi Max processor not as good as Mi5

Wow! As long as you can get use to 5.2" from a 5.7", then no issue.

I think many users cannot downgrade the screen size being so used to 5.7" of Note series...

I was thinking of Mi5 but than 5.2" is just too tiny. I'm currently with a 5.5" phone.

That's why it is in a mess! Lol!

I don't fancy the curve but again the other aspects of the phone are fanciful! :)

forget abt note5 and go for note7, not because of curve screen but for the support of microSD card and IP68 - water & dust resistant.

Anyone knows where can I get a white note 5 64g? I checked most shops (MS, WM, J2, RW, etc). They don't have white. Only gold, rose gold, silver.

Appreciate any tips.

Note 5 is still a very solid phone with performance and battery standby better than my current work iphone 6 plus and still better than majority of Android phones in the market today.

Just sharing the 2 main reasons I will not buy Note 7, the curve screen like S7 that would reflect line of light along the 2 sides, not to mentioned how useless the curves are and easily your hands will touch them.
I prefer camera sensor of 16:9(wide) ratio rather than the 4:3 of Note 7/S7. Even if u have the option of selecting 16:9, it simply crops the picture thus not fully utilizing the sensor.

Many user like me do not exceed the built in 32/64gb capacity, that said I'm pretty IT savvy and use my phone daily for web, social media and music listening. I take care of phone well with solid protective casing this IP rating is not required.

Very well said!

A Big assurance for me to grab the Note 5 instead of Note 7 which I also do not like the curved-edge! :)

No problem bro, like u, i was a fan of LG G pro 2.
Had since switch to Note 4, Nexus 6p then to Note 5. Still liking the experience with my Note 5 after 6 months.

Fingers cross, Samsung did upgrade Note 4 to include many of Note 5's software features.
Hope its the same for last year flagship.
Otherwise, its really your choice to spend 40% more just to buy Note 7.

Is Samsung gonna upgrade the Note 5 UX to Grace Touchwiz? :s22:

Should I upgrade Note 5 to Note 7 ?

If I have a note5, I wouldn't change yet. Note 5 still possesses impressive camera and specs is no slouch either. Since you've no major complaints on storage expansion so maybe can wait for Note 8 :o

Unless you don't mind paying extra hundreds for the curved glass which is fragile to break or want water-resistant features

The decision is up to you la :o

I'm upgrading to Note 5 instead of Note 7...

Camera on Note 5 is still super impressive and I like flat screen, hate the curved edge of Note 7...or rather I have never fancied curved screen especially when playing game and watching video..

The game and video curved at the top and bottom of screen... Super funny and not practical at all.. :(

Also, the curved edges makes the Note 7 narrower...and in practical, it makes it too narrow to be hold comfortablly. Not a firm hold especially so when your one hand is with Note 7 and the other hand is with the S Pen trying to do something on the screen.:)

As for the extra 500mHa battery on Note 7....Come on lah, it makes not much difference over 500mHa less Note 5 with quick changing.

Think twice...
