my note5 is still under warranty but i went to SVC, they say LCD is not cover

samsung service centres are all not owned by samsung one. if you dig into the company profile, its by a private company leh.

But one thing for sure is that the quotation they give is an estimation. Whether 230 or 311, they will also add in labour cost and come out with a new figure.

Yes.

If you want dual sim, the best is to get the official Malaysia Samsung set which at least, if anything to go wrong with your phone, you can hop over to JB service outlet.

A 1 year official warranty..

flashed it via ODIN

Recovery Mode still shows STH CSC applied

Of course. All 4 firmware are the same.

You should just enter csc config mode and choose XSP

by the way, once I set everything up, there seems to be a few interesting observations
(1) not all apps show up under Google Play Store - some apps require me to go to the specific page on the Play Store to download the updates (i.e. Samsung Galaxy LIFE)

(2) Galaxy Store starts downloading a bunch of apps (i.e. Carmode, Good Lock, etc.) - is there anyway to prevent this? again, some of them do not show up under All

you will need to disable the apps before galaxy apps try to update or download them.

certain apps might be handled by galaxy apps and some are play store, so it really depends.

that's a bummer :/ it started downloading new apps out of the blue (i.e. Good Lock and Car Mode)

Yes. You need to download additional packages for gear vr. It happens when you first connect the vr to the phone..

Does anyone know if the camera has manual focusing (in Pro mode)?
Does the camera app always default to Auto mode upon opening, even if I last set it to other modes?

1. Yes. Pro camera functions allows to do everything including manual focusing.

2. Yes. Camera defaults back to auto mode after you exit out of the camera app. The only way to retain the pro mode is to simply press home button to keep it in memory.

I'm using a 0.3mm tpu transparent case bought from a mobile stall at Bugis Junction. The seller is a thin lady. I can't recall what brand as I have thrown the box.

This case is so awesome that you can't even feel and see the case in that context. I think it was $10 or $12..

It turned yellow but my Note 5 is Gold. So, it blends well.

Alternatively, Spigen liquid clear case is good amid a 0.5mm thickness. This case costs about $14.90..

thanks for your input! Mine is titanium silver So it will be very obvious if the case turns yellow.

I understand that spigen case also turns yellow as well. My gf bought one spigen transparent case for her iphone and it turned yellow within 1st 3 months of usage. Quite disappointing
