I dun think so, sometimes i use new cable also like that. I think the charging port of Note 5 or the hardware got issues, sometimes it does not only not charge fast, the charge is dropping when i'm using the phone just to instagram and all that lol. It happened quite long ago during first year but cos i'm almost never in a rush, i let it go. Now even fast charge, it will charge at most using 3/4 of the power, then i can see the power fluctuate up and down (usually down lol). My Wireless also no fast charge liao.

Overall, charging wired/wireless has been inconsistent, even my Note 3, plug in (same cable) can charge faster with consistent power than Note 5 most of the time. When i get Note 8 i'm gonna monitor liao, once i see this problem again i'll go SVC lol.

Adaptive fast charge will slow down at around 75% battery then there is Heat/Temperature of the device that will also toggle charging and CPU speeds which can explain why sometimes playing the device on the charger can get laggy.

You must also make sure to use the proper original cable and wall plug. Older generation cables may or may not work with the new fast charging tech as the Cables may not be designed to sustain the long run of the higher charge.

Tried. Same plug, same cable (also same but got new one) same same. Pretty sure it's the phone itself with problems. I usually only buy cable if it's stated as 2.1A or above that support fast charge. At the very least, the phone should be charging at the normal speed but it isn't, sometimes i need to unplug and re-plug in again then it work but it's still not like before.

You can try Samsung's smart switch to backup into an external SD card.

LOL.....

Remember my phone cannot respond to finger touch but respond to the stylus?

Guess what?
Suddenly the phone became "normal" and can now respond to my finger touch now....

My goodness.... now is 7th Month Ghost Month..... i must thank the spirits for this miracle....

my note 5 machiam dying liao. phone keep rebooting randomly and stuck at the Galaxy Note 5 restart few time also cannot. try other rom also same thing happen

And the digitizer failed again.......back to using the S Pen again...

Sigh.....well.... at least I have pre-ordered Note8....time to say goodbye once the Note8 is in my hands...

I believe this slow charging happened after the latest firmware update.

I also realized my Note 5 is charging MUCH SLOWER after the firmware update.

Just trade in my note 5 for S8+ at COMEX. Surprise note 5 still hv $300 trade in value.
