I use a Screen Off and On App to lock my screen.

After the new update, it required me to key in my PIN as an "additional security..." when I wanna unlock my screen using fingerprint sensor after I locked my screen using that app.

WTF sia...

However, If I locked my screen using the Power button. I can unlocked my screen by just using fingerprint sensor without prompting me to key in my PIN!

So, is the new security patch broke the Screen Off and On app?

Yah. Seems like that way. Cannot use soft button to lock the phone. There's no difference between soft and hardware power button right?

Ya lor, me kena too... Now every time have to use power button to lock.. my soft lock app cannot use... Same as what u mentioned

No difference, use soft lock won't always press power button, less stress on the button..

I think the app developers need to update their app for the new security patch bah.

The soft lock app is such a nice little app. So convenient..

Since update, I had tried install a few soft lock app... All cannot.. zzz

Gallery app missing after the update. Not listed in Application Manager. No response when click on the bottom right corner of camera app.

any bro knows how to get it back?

the n5 owner prefers the gallery more than the newer photos.

Just wanna check if anyone having issues with data connections on N5?

Connecting via Wifi is fine, but when wifi is switched off, connection will be down on mobile data even though its showing 4G.

Called starhub, and the following were done but issue wasn't fixed:
1. Reboot
2. Manual select Starhub under Network operators
3. sim card works on other phone

Called Samsung and the first they say was to do a factory reset -..-"

Am wondering could it be due to the latest Marshmallow update?

Did that too, had to manually key in the various wifi passwords again.


Strange thing was, I took out my starhub sim card and tried it on my friend's iphone while I used my friend's singtel sim card and used it on my note 5 concurrently, and both mobile connection works fine.
However when I insert my starhub sim card back to my note 5, the mobile data connection goes off after a few minutes (play store wont load, internet browser wont load etc). Really confused if its the issue with sim card of my phone now

Likely it's your phone having a corrupted binary for the radio.

I'm afraid u got no other choice but a reset already.

Huh? Mine is still there leh... Think u need a hard reset... I didn't do any reset after update, only clear cache

Does anybody know if Samsung has stopped bringing in note 5 to Singapore?

I noticed all 3 major telcos are no longer selling note 5.

Most major retailers are also not carrying note 5 or out of stock.

Is it possible to turn off the firmware update reminder and avoid the update for a couple of weeks until more user feedbacks come in to decide whether or not to update....?

I am not keen to update as the current version is working very very well in all aspects.... and very stable and no longer draining battery for no reason....

Anyone can advise?
