Actually microSD card slot exclusion is an android design. Since Kitkat, Google has set SD card write restrictions, with exception of a few apps.

I think moving forward you will see more Android devices ditching the SD card slot. I believe only major handset manufacturer still supports it is LG and Xiaomi (if you consider them, major).

In the next version of android, most of those restrictions will disappear...

Actually for Xiaomi, their Mi Phone series doesn't have microSD card slot, only their Redmi Phone series has it. :)

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI 1s using GAGT

if sammyboy phone charges the same price as xiaomi, i will buy it and not complain

i saw that over 3million android fans looking to buy oneplus 2 and it does not have expandable storage or removable battery too

on the other hand, it is only $500+, half the price of Note 5

yeah. for airplay, if you have more than 2 devices..then might be difficult as the free version allows only up to 2 devices.

with wifi 5Ghz, the transfer is fast.

liked u said. there's always work-around, just need to find and get use to it. And.. with Mac, the damn Android transfer apps is a PITA. :s13:

On Mac, AFT never works for me, KIES will crash if you attempt to transfer too many files at one go :s22:

OTG, Cloud, Wifi Transfer, at least there are "easy" options.

Just wanna say there's a FAST Charging powerbank as well  but not $14.90 :(

are you getting it?

will wait for early adopters to feedback. in no hurry to get note 5. and not inclined when they removed most of the major differentiators (removable batt + SD card) from the Note line. :s8:

good news!

this is good too. But i will wait to see how its actually being implemented. Cause for Lollipop release, Google said it was also lifting SD write restrictions - but it turned out that app developers need to update their apps to enable to write access.

anyway, i also came from G3 and loved it to bits. But after I changed to S6, i found that I didnt really missed the SD card slot and replaceable batt. just needed to change the way how I managed my media.

But for me one of the strangest change for the Note 5 was the exclusion of infrared sensor.

Its funny when the previous Note 4 and the new S6 has it, and now they decided to leave it out with the Note 5. I always tot samsung positioned their remote control app as a key feature.

Yup. Totally agreed.
And battery wear is inevitable. So for heavy users, it is good to be able to change after one year.

Same here, esp if I'm flashing roms.

It's so emotionally painful to press and hold power button.

the only motivation to get the note 5 now is the writing on screen without turning screen on and the keyboard! it looks really good and i love the convenience of keyboards. And it is so ingenious to merge it with a case, with the flexibility of using the phone full screen or with the kb. :s21:

Samsung must have realised by now that, like Apple (gulp), they're great at re-inventing old ideas and making them their own, first the stylus, then big screen, then the keyboard.

I suspect samsung with release a Note 5++, in response to feedback, that has removable battery and sd card slot.

Does anyone have any idea why note 5 won't be released in Europe?

Read that news, quite odd.

Sales sanction by Apple?

Maybe Note 5 Plus for them? With same design, removable glass back by 2 screws for removable battery and MSD slot? =:p

:s13: indeed. Will be keeping my G4 until the new iPhone is out. If both Apple and Samsung have no microSD slot, whats the point of getting Sammy phones? It has no resale value. Note 4 was my favorite until the G4 came with a better camera.

I am using iPhone 6+ currently. I switched from G3 to iPhone 6+ early this year. I wanted to know why iPhone is so popular and how it feels like using with a 5.5" screen.

I can tell you. IP6+ is crap. It is so slow. It has only 1GB ram, and when you switch apps and switch back, the 1st app has to reload from start. It is also not ergonomics to hold. Only good thing is the long battery life.

I am so thrilled to know note 5 is available tomorrow! Bye iPhone and I'm never going back for the near future.

If after using N5 and it is also a crap phone, I will state it as crap and move on to another phone.
