Hi, I’ve read and learnt a lot from this thread, thanks everyone!

Looking to get a pair of progressives for my mom... I understand it’s as impt to get good optician as the lenses, does anyone has recommendations for people to look for please? Considering Nikon or Zeiss lenses, but happy for recommendations too.
We live in Bishan. Thanks again!

Pmed! :o:s12:

You probably need glasses for far vision especially at night. Rmb undercorrection or not wearing glasses when you have degree is one of the main factors for myopia progression.

I am going 43 soon, have been at -1.50/-1.75 since my mid 20s, and all these years I don't wear specs >80% of the time

in my case, not wearing specs did not lead to any myopia progression

Oh case actually varies from one individual to another. However case studies were done on younger children-teens and that was the results.
For instances similar to yours, it is likely that you do a lot of outdoor activity or genetics. Myopia is caused by genetics, poor habit, insufficient outdoor activities. There are other factors but from my experience with my patients, I realised this is the growing trend too. It’s good/lucky that you have no issues with your distance then!
(I say your genes if it’s not outdoor activities.)

Hey, the Lindberg website has a list of retailers in Singapore selling them. Just find one that is close to you and head down to try their range. There are a few different series of Lindbergs thus a wide range for you to choose from.
Yes they are light/durable. The price is justified (imo) by the comfort and quality of the frame. Also their servicing is really ToP notch whereby in some cases whereby customers break their break and we send it for servicing expecting to pay, sometimes they just replace the frame for them(case to case basis I believe on the extend of the damage)...

its generally applied to younger people <21. above 21 or so the eye usually stops growing in length so even if you dont wear glasses, it is fine. the degree wont change, just not clear ;)

Anybody bought from wish.com before? Price is quite cheap..

Hey, I bought other kind of products from there But Glasses-wise, take note that there will probably be little to none for warranty and servicing. IF you bring it to normal optical shops,*some* might be wary on handling your frame. If not then yes, it should be quite a steal!

I would surely go with Lindberg, and if you are comparing between both brands... Are you looking more for Frameless kind of designs?
